I know that we have our own young talented midfielders but it would seem the NP is on the prawl for some more! The papers say the Man Utd midfielder Nick Powell is strongly link with us, however I have been very impressed with George Thorne this season on loan at Derby from West Brom. Granted I saw more of Thorne is year than Powell but IMO Thorne has real class, So NP maybe a cheap but clever move if Powell stays at Wigan on loan.
GT has looked the stand out player for Derby since he joined them. There again, I voted Matty James POTY. I do like a grafter.
Danny Drinkwater is a brilliant player, he could definitely play for England in the future. NP should have signed him for us.
I think if we sign a midfielder it needs to be someone tough, with actual PL experience. Someone like Gareth Barry or Steve Sidwell. We've got plenty of youth in there already. I do like the look of Thorne but he hasn't played many games for WBA, who lest we forget, are a rival now.
I have just read that West Brom may be prepared to let George Thorne go on the cheap or even on a Freebie this is a no brainer in my book....come NP jump in quick and get a young very talented midfielder before Derby sign him on a permanent deal.
Its hard to say whether we can accomodate any more young talent in the team to be honest, we have a fairly young side in front of the defence.
I would just replace Dean Hammond we a experienced Premier League player Drinkwater, James and King are fine
I think all 3 will get better this season but we do perhaps also need an older more experienced head in there
Juan Mata may be surplus to requirements at Man United ... alternatively we might even be able to peruade Frank Lampard that it's a bit premature for him to be entering that reirement home in Shepherds Bush
