http://www.doncaster.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=405950 Former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted is reportedly set to sign for Championship side Queens Park Rangers. Maxted, who came through the youth system at Doncaster was released last summer after joining Walsall on trial rather than sign a new deal at the Keepmoat. He spent the second half of last season with League Two side Hartlepool United, where he failed to make an appearance, before being released in the summer. The 21-year-old was drafted in by non-league side Forest Green Rovers in midweek for their pre-season friendly with championship side Cardiff City after injuries to both their keepers leading up to the game. He produced a man of the match performance for Forest Green that included a penalty save from Peter Whittingham. The Gloucestershire Gazette reported on the game and stated that Maxted was Queens Park Rangers bound. If true, someone has seen something that DRFC didn't
I am cheap (almost free to a good home) , usually very cheerful and to put the icing on the cake a goalkeeper (well I was a "few" years ago) Where do I sign
Assuming McCarthy does go then we still need another GK so I really hope he's 3rd choice. Imagine if Green picked up a serious injury & he becomes 1st choice our already paper thin defence could be left in a disastrous state.
