Shay Given dives the wrong way on the "penalty" shot - Ashley Young obviously the right way, yet again - up to his cheating tricks! Would love to have seen him get a caution for one of those performances.
Former Manchester United schoolboy and Wales international Robbie Savage at Old Trafford for BBC Radio 5 live: "I have to say, I think again Ashley Young has taken a dive. I said before the game he has to be careful of his theatrics. There was minimal contact, and the way he went down was shocking. He's going to get a reputation. And the referee couldn't wait to put the whistle to his mouth and give the penalty. This is very hard to take if you're Villa."
He's going to get a reputation?... FFS he had a reputation for it at Villa and has just enhanced and refined it, Tom Daly would be proud of him...
Crikey that was shameless. If anybody wants to see it: http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideo...-puts-manchester-united-1-0-up-v-aston-villa/
Well done everyone at the FA, you must be proud. No doubt they will back the ref and say it was the correct call as Young touched the other player. I would love to see an opposition player launch himself Klinsmann style 4 feet in the air to take the piss out of the refs and FA and bring the diving into the media.

We have got to remember also that the game is at old trafford home of trafford united team chock full of divers cheats. They have a history of it fake ronaldo remember his theatrics went done very easily still does and van nistelrooy. Personally I want Villa to make a game of it in stead of rolling over as usual.
One day someone will break his legs. Hopefully. Even if it should have been a penalty I see no reason why players can't be dealt with retrospectively for playing like tarts.
Thank Telf, missed the earlier part of the game. What a thing eh? And the 'ref' was right on top of it too... The rules say it should have been a card for simulation (deceit) but the practice from match and FA officials is to do anything but enforce the rules and end up effectively unfairly influencing the outcome of vital games.
Just heard that Ashley Young wants be join the Navy (submariners). So that I can't be accussed of diving without good reason.
We are all, quite rightly, slagging off Young for his diving antics as it is a disgrace BUT................... What if he does it in the Euro 2012 Final and England win the trophy? I am sure we will all be calling him a f***ing hero!! Just throwing that out there!
Diving should be a straight red-card as the result of the dive can often mean a red card for the unfortunate defender. It just needs a ref with the cojones to call it...
