I don't want to be one of these blokes that comes out with rubbish like "he's worth £20 million" but this lad has a hell of a future in my opinion.

I have been impressed with him since he came into the side, but yesterday thought he had improved yet again. He was ALWAYS available to receive the ball, sitting in that midfield role. More importantly, I was over the moon with his poise once he received the ball. For years I have been crying out for a central midfield player who can put his foot on the ball, wait, draw a defender and then play an easy ball to the teams advantage.

If there are any positives to take out of the second half of this season, then I think young Colback could be one of them. Keep it up son!

I have watched him closely in the games he has played and he has hardly put a foot wrong. He always looks for the pass to go forward rather than a pass back. However, when all our midfielders are fit and we buy a couple of wingers where will he fit into the side? Would you have in the team before Meyler for example?

why not, he's doing well, NOW,

it's gonna be meyler's job to push colback out, not vice-versa.

why not indeed, colback is doing well now, no reason he should lose his place,

down to the others to fight it out for a place, be it meyler/catts or who-ever...

You play your form players until they dip over a couple of games then freshen it up with new faces, not put old faces in because they played there before they were injured. Colback has done well when given the chances and with two games to go and not a lot except maybe a bit of pride to play for keep him in for full on match practice, it's the best way to bring young players on. He has took his chance lets hope Bruce sees that positively and lets the other young players have a go.

The big bonus with Jack is his self control, something both Catts and Meyler sadly lack, hence all the red and yellow cards.

I actually believe that Jack is a better all round player than Meyler, who tends to fly into tackles in the same way as Catts, resulting in bookings or injury. To me, Meyler only has one advantage over Jack and that is his height, so he has a lot of work to do to convince me that he is worthy of a place ahead of Jack Colback, but then it's not me he has to convince, it's the manager!

Colback has came in and took his chance, now its up to the others to displace him...if they can. When everyone is fit it leads to healthy competition for places.

I have been very impressed with this lad, and he is getting better game by game. If he keeps up the level of performance that he showed yesterday then he will take some shifting from the first team.

Colback, Henderson, Meyler, Cattermole, Elmo, Campbell all 23 or younger. Futures not lookin too bad if we can keep them off the treatment table.

100% agree mate. Henderson, Colback, Noble etc are where the club should focus attention. Home grown lads who have the heart and passison to make a difference AND who can play a bit too.

Didn't he "see red" in his first team debut? Anyone know his disciplinary record at Ipswich?

My only concern with Elmo is that he is rubbish at everything other the occasional flick on....that is my only concern.

I think Colback has done very well I would like to see him and Meyler together in the middle. The big problem though is goals from that position, if he can add 8 goals a season to his game then he could be the real deal.

I expect our CM for next season to be: Colback, Catts, Meyler, Muntari, Riveros. With Henderson as on option if we have another injury crisis. I think Riveros will grow into a useful player I just think Bruce has not played him because he thinks south american players need a year to settle in. Muntari is a strange one too, he was not match fit when he came here but he obviously had quality so we will see.

Colback could have saved us 6-10 million in the summer.

My only worry about the above is not enough goals in them.

I was also there yesterday and 4 players stood out, Colbeck, sess, Ferdinand and Zendon.
There are roughly 200 players linked with us in the Sunday people lol

If Meyler makes a full recovery and Colback continues his astonishing improvement I can't see Catts keeping his place. Two great prospects in my opinion.
