We seem to have a cracking amount of good young players being made ready for next season in all positions, strikers, midfield, wingers, fullbacks and goalkeeper, some have been and are on loan, some have been on our 1st team subs bench and have had some first team experience, some have represented their country at international level...... .......but where oh where are our young central defenders, we've been crying out for them, where are they.....? This is not me criticising, if the class ones are there I've missed them, where are they....?
Hi Hawk, good to have you active again, Louis, Gary and Geoff I watched and loved them but they are virtually history, I'm talking about the here and now, no young central defenders are showing prominence in our set-ups.....
Wouldn't all bates a youngster. Apart from Holloway we have none, Obviously have some in the U21 but I don't think there anywhere near ready yet.
We dont need any other defenders when we have Fontain I would have liked to have seen holloway given a chance as he is big and physical. could have fit the build we wanted as a strong centre defender
Don't get a chance to see Reserve, or Development matches if thats what they are called now, any more so have absolutely no idea what the youngsters are like back in the days when I lived in Brissle every time I couldn't follow City away I went to a reserve game when one was on kept me upto date with players comming up or returning from injury bit too far to travel now plus aren't most games behind closed doors at the training ground now?
Should James Wilson have been given a proper run? I do think centre half is a position where players mature.
James Wilson is out of contract I think this summer. You never really get to know about defenders coming through, as in most teams forwards always take the limelight and people get to hear of them more. I bet until Caulker came to us even though he spent a year at Yeovil most Spurs fans probably had not heard of him. But any developing forward would of been talked about. We could have some that are ready, even though I'm not keen on the idea it would not surprise me if Louis Carey was given another year to bed some youngsters into the squad.
No thank you; yesterday's player and we really need to have a completely fresh start. Any contract for LC would be silly and based on sympathy/memory of a good player. Time to retire Louis!
