Well with all due respect your comment above makes you the laughing stock of BCFC.

The high profile guys clearly do not want to work with the current owner, and board set up.this surely has to be the reason after Mr Puppet Ashton comments on high profile managers applying or showing interest.

Why mention high profile managers to the inner circle if you could not accommodate,or meet their requirements.

I felt LJ was a good player for us,but a manager too soon.

Do you think us fans are idiots, can you compare a rookie to the likes of Pearson,Warnock,Moyes etc.

A simple answer another cheap option the club has gone down, will it work time will tell,i wish you all the success in the world Lee.

Their was supporters here who did not like you as a player,if it goes petong then it is not going to be a nice place to be.

However i wish you well on your journey in football management.

I think he will either sink big time,or be a breath of fresh air keeping us up.
The big concern for me is no experience at this level.
What BCFC are doing is like giving the job to a teenager, and saying go and do what you can and try and keep us in the division.
If not we are best suited to being a big fish in league one,it does not cost as much being there,we are quite happy there.
BCFC and SL ambition is zero rated, please don't come out with we want to be in the prem in a few years that is laughable.

A club with supposedly high ambitions but low in actual performance. No change with this one then.

Lee is doing okay at Barnsley but we were promised a high callibre manager. That means track record. That means contacts. Lee is just too green to fit into this category.

100% agree and i liked LJ as a player always thought we looked better with him on the field,i said a another thread it is asking a teenager to keep us up,he has never managed above league one.

SL and his cronies have a lot to answer for if this happens and they go back down.

Shameful treatment of the supporters by Steve Lansdown and his new dancing bear. The end is nigh.

It also means spending money on experience and calibre.

We all knew it would be empty words when it came to an announcement, whether it was Pemberton or LJ.

I seriously doubt it was ever going to be anyone proven.

And actually, who in their right mind, with anything approaching a successful career on their managerial CV at this level or better would want to come here ? Even an outsider looking in can see the ever increasing mess and turmoil that Lansdown and the other clowns are pretending to manage. The headline a few weeks ago about Lansdown taking personal charge of the Head Coach recruitment and appointment is very telling if LJ is to be given the role.

And talking of Pemberton, who has overseen our purchases/loans to date. Could now easily find himself out of a job.

You have to wonder what's going thru Pembo's mind right now. He's steadied the ship, has significant experience in the game but is seemingly being overlooked for a young lad who will be a polarizing figure at The Gate. Football is tough business and Pembo will be on a contract that has to be honored, so he'll still be paid for a period of time and maybe will stay on as assistant coach. But surely he must be making a case for himself as being not only experienced but also already invested in the club?

Evidently we trusted him enough to have a large part in the January signings.

Several years ago a club decided to give it's then physio a chance at the helm. Nigel Adkins turned out to be pretty good at the big job. I'd rather see Pembo given this chance than LJ who will be doomed from day 1 with a certain section of the fans.

Over the next week or so we were told that the club would be talking to several candidates for the job. Lee Johnson is currently employed so when it was his turn to be approached we first had to get Barnsley permission. We did and because of this it has made news. Pearson, Moyes, Sherwood & Southgate are all unemployed. So are free to talk to, meaning nobody knows about any discussions because there is nobody to tell. We might not even get/want Lee Johnson. We've just had a chat with him, along with other managers. Lets not lose our **** just yet, and even if we do appoint LJ, just back him ffs.

Why would LJ want to be interviewed for the position if he was happy at Barnsley, why upset your employers.
I personally think we approached his club to interview him, and he has said i would like to see what the job entails.
Barnsley have allowed him to be interviewed.
If he gets the job all well and good, but if he does not then his employers are always going to be looking over their shoulders.

That's what I've just said... They have given us permission to talk to him. "Why would he want to be interviewed" are you serious?! Because we are a bigger and better team than Barnsley. He has history with this club, he knows the chairmen, it's championship football and if he keeps us up he knows he'll get a big fat juicy bonus and then a chance to build a team who can have a real go at promotion. Barnsley will more than likely stay in L1. Us on the other hand have a great chance to stay in the champ. Rotherham and Mk Dons are there for the taking and it all starts today!

Steve Lansdown will never allow any manager the luxury of building his own team because that would take some control away from the big kahuna. I would have thought he would have stayed a million miles away from BS3 especially as you say he already knows the owner, and as far as an opportunity to build a team for promotion forget it. We have had many opportunities to rebuild, especially under the GJ era, and the chances were spurned every time for some reasons known only to the head chap in his ivory tower. As for his new muppet Ashton I suspect he has been hired for one reason only and that is to bow when necessary.

It's been a slice chatting to you shiny and I wish you and all the other 606ers the best of British and hope your team will one day thrive. I'm not saying goodbye forever but just a hiatus is needed to get my thoughts back together after what I can only describe as the most disappointing, upsetting and predictable day in my support of Bristol City. To be perfectly blunt I am sick and tired of hearing promises come from a man who clearly does not have a clue how to run a decent football club, and then goes out and hires people who will only be used as his punching bag until he tires of them.
