He tries to be nice and positive about us at points in that but he's just taking the ****ing piss. Patronising, condescending little prick who has no right to say ANY of what he just said about us. Miserable horrible little cretin. The only Sky News people I can stand are Stelling and Kammy.

Sky should sack him if he's found guilty of drink driving. Rodney Marsh was sacked for making an indecent joke about the Tsunami in Asia, drink driving is far less acceptable in my book.

Paul Merson is rubbish, he's dull like Lawro and his comments carry little weight . I can't help thinking he must have a friend at Sky Sports who's given him that job, (probably out of sympathy) he's not very good at all.

 

well i watched his old team before the toon match and they are a one man team without RVP they'd be mid table they are ****e and will not finish top 4 imo maybe that's why he's a bitter little troll

Don't get me wrong, Merson is a knob, just not because he said that.

 

He usually makes snide remarks about us and that quote proves he is the biggest idiot on the planet as it flies in the face of what he has been saying when we were undefeated.

 

I'm not a fan of Merson and have run him down many times on here, but to be fair his comments aren't as bad as they appear. I saw the post match review he did and he said the same thing but the context he said it in is important.

He was fairly complimentary to the team re the performance saying that we had defended well for most of the game and had made numerous good chances and that had we taken some of them the result could have been different.

The comment that seems to be annoying everybody was made in regard to the tired cliched comments that have also been pissing us off, i.e that this was our first test. He was suggesting that because we were not the best team in the league we had infact been tested in many of our games up to that point and I took it to be a compliment. He seemed to be saying that whilst we had fallen slightly short today we had actually achieved alot so far this season and should not be written off as a result of todays defeat.

Just my take on it for what it is worth.

I'm just cutting him some slack on this one. Lets face it the guy can barely string two words together and his choice of words was crap, but I don't think he meant it to be offensive, quite the opposite infact.

 

To be honest he seems more patronising to me, Donkey Toon. Sounds like he's trying to be complimentary, but just in a patronising way. I dunno. That's all I'm feeling.
