Mine goes back to the arrival of Reggie (Alain) Perrin when there was a sudden penchent for French monikers. I chose Principaux poissons dans les Hampshire.
Brought up in Eastney or though actually born in Fratton - and despite moving away from Pompey in 83 it's in my blood and so it just felt right.
BBC 606 wouldn't allow "Johnny Lager" (my favourite Pompey player) but allowed Durninlager for some reason.
Micky Channon was my childhood hero, and some of you may have noticed, I love playing with words, puns, double-entendres etc. Channonfodder just fitted the bill on 606 as a corruption of cannon fodder. I was very pleased that it had not been nicked by anyone on this site.
Match day friends gave me the name in the early eighties well before the days of mobile phones and home computers, because as soon as I start to drink lager the Arsenic content causes me to have a grin that lasts hours.
A cat, with a gold lucky charm on his head, that talks with a Brooklyn accent. Am I the only one that gets it?
I wish to point out that whilst I am not related in any way to Lord Duckhunter, my name was based 'loosely' on the story of when Milan Mandaric was trying to make contact with Rupert Lowe to discuss something of great importance to him (), and received the response that he could not be contacted because he was away "hunting / shooting ducks". Hence, Milan sending Rupert a frozen duck for Christmas - one of the nicest gestures I have ever seen.
After the heavy inflatable I grew up with. I still have an inate fear of trying to head the ball in the rain.
Well my name is Mike, and my favourite computer game of all time is final fantasy 7....which is based around the character "cloud"......I am also a rolling stones fan so it all added up nicely.
