The reason we won't do 'a Pompey' or 'a Notts' is simple; because our owners are businessmen, not fraudsters or convicts or charlatans. The owners at Pompey and Notts were either lying about their wealth, lying about how they gained their wealth or didn't even exist! Our owners are a father and son team who have a very respected business, King Power, and an estimated wealth of app. £4bn. From what I understand, the Pompey owners only had a wealth of a few million, and the Munto Finance brigade were a bunch of frauds. That is why they failed; because they both run up debts and loans aligned to the club without having the capital to clear them. Our owners are not running up debt in our name, they are investing their capital from their own money. And it is much harder for our owners to ever 'do a runner' - because unlike the Pompey and Notts owners, our owners have a real business which is credible and well-known, and they have joined up their business with our club. If they ever ran away from our club, leaving it in millions of pounds of debts, how do you think people would take to King Power? Their credibility would be destroyed and they'd have thousands of LCFC fans banging on their door! KP want to use LCFC to promote their brand in Europe, whilst LCFC will inturn be promoted in Asia (hence why two of Asia's biggest companies, Singha and Air Asia, are two of our sponsors). That's the difference between the Mickey Mouse oil barrons and proper businessmen; it's a two way relationship.
