It's a horrible thing to say but i wonder if she'd feel the same if it was her or her daughter.

Bill Maher is good at ripping all the American politicians. His show isn't shown over here though. He usually has good guests on it. I liked when hitchens and Galloway were on it slagging each other.

If you believe in god then everything is god's will or at least god allows it to happen: rape, the holocaust, irish pop music, etc

Up front, I'm a non believer. But I don't mind if others feel the need to seek strength from belief in a supreme being. One way or another, all of us need something to get us through life, some turn to drink others to drugs and masturbation. A family life can help too. Personally, I like sitting in front of my 42 inch television, with my dick out, but that's a story for another day. What's this got to do with the US elections? Nothing really, I just wanted to talk about by dick.

But if I must, then here goes. One of the strange things about that great country, is the depth of the faith in the populace. I've never been there, so what I have to say should be taken with a grain of salt. But it seems to me that there appears to be an almost fundamentalist feel about their service to their God. By no means is the general depth as pervasive as some of the Islamic countries, but it does seem more conservative than most first world countries. And flying in the face of this, it just happens to be one of the most progressive and innovative societies on the planet. American is a major, driving force when it comes to such things as culture, science, commerce and the like. She is a trend setter of the brightest magnitude, yet she clings closely to the fading light of creationism. And it's this belief in the supreme being that often embarrasses them. If a profound belief is so deeply entrenched in a society, then it stands to reason that political life will be littered with believers. Get enough of folk together, be they people of belief or not, and you'll invariably find a fool or two among them. This gent's statement stirred up a storm, this in itself says that the average God fearing American didn't agree with him.

I think you'll find idiots in all countries Dan. I'd have followed Screaming Lord Sutch to the ends of the earth. Wonderful man.

Yeah Barack Obama spending the most money at the last election and letting Iran get to the verge of nukes while refusing to help the only non-Islamist uprising in the Middle East while helping all the Islamist ones has been a disaster for world security

Oh and he's more hated in the ME than Bush
