The point is made in your own link though. There may have been banter with Everton and that may have started the quote but we take this cup seriously as we do every cup.

I remember we did call it that many years ago, but it was just banter-and has been said, we take any cup seriously, even the one the mancs are in now.

Agree 100% Saint I grew up on us winning League and UEFA cups as well as the others so I always want us to win anyone of them...plus I always thought the actual UEFA trophy is a thing of beauty in fact I really don't want the manks to win it
Not one Red on this thread including the OP are being flippant about it, the point is last year when we were in it the manks were ripping us about it being the tin pot channel 5 cup etc...now they're well into it mate any day\night out at a cup final is class as you know.
