sat in the seats next to you are a couple of Pompey fans resplendent in all their Pompey regalia. Do you turn to them and say: a) **** off back down the M27; b) Nice kit lads; c) Welcome to St Maryâs boys and Iâm very sorry to hear you havenât got a football club anymore; d) Wasnât that kind of our nice Mr Cortese to let all you Pompey fans trade in your now worthless Pompey Season tickets for a Saints season ticket free of charge; e) Do you mind moving lads as I donât want my clothes smelling of fish; f) After all these years you have finally seen the light; g) Where is your handsome friend with the bell as I have always wanted to meet him? Or are you left totally speechless and just give them a big hug and shed a tear with them for the loss of their beloved football club? If your answer is none of the above please let us know what you would say.
This actually happened to us at the Middlesbrough match in October in the Kingsland stand - except they weren't in their colours. 6 of the buggers with one Saints supporter (bit strange) sat right behind us. Anyway, after a few "Blue Army!" chants and obvious support of Middlebrough plus checking the pompey score throughout, my son turned around and said "I can appreciate that you want to be here to enjoy our lovely facilities and entertaining winning football, but please shut up or I'll have you removed" And it worked!
I would have thought said Portsmouth fans would not be let in and/or would not be stupid enough to show their colours in St Mary's
Yep, most likely this. Seriously though, they wouldn't be allowed in unless they made a point of hiding them, and I'd imagine pretty soon after revealing themselves they would be removed for their own safety!
