Leeds United set to sign Millwall winger on loan

FLW understands the 29-year-old will join the Elland Road outfit on loan until the end of the season, with the view to a permanent deal.

Woolford has an abundance of experience playing in the Football League, having had spells at York City, Scunthorpe United, Bristol City and Millwall.

The Castleford-born winger’s most profitable spell in-terms of appearances and goals came at Scunthorpe United, where he accumulated 103 appearances, scoring 15 goals.

Woolford signed for Millwall in January 2013 on a two-and-a-half year deal from Bristol City, and he has accumulated over 70 appearances for the Lions.

The 6ft winger has also made two appearances for the England C team in 2008.

Transfer activity at the Elland Road club has been pretty full-on with the club so far signing two players in Ivorian defender Sol Bamba, and French midfielder Granddi N’Goyi.

The Elland Road outfit are also eyeing a move for Stoke City midfielder Jamie Ness, as reported on FLW.

Ness has only managed one appearance for Stoke City during his time there, and that came in a League Cup game.

Wigan Athletic and Sheffield United are also watching the 23-year-old midfielder, who is currently on loan at Sky Bet League One side Crewe Alexandra.

Meanwhile, SPL side Celtic are eyeing a move for Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt, as reported on FLW.

According to FLW sources, Celtic and Swansea City are monitoring the situation of the talented youngster, but are most likely to table a bid in the summer.

maybe they're getting their own back for all the pensioners we sent them
Can't blame Woolford for jumping ship and wanting to play for a massive club though<ok>

Millwalls best player and top goalscorer last season can understand him not wanting to go down with the dregs.
