Has this happened to you ? Last night, a nephew ( STH ), attended the game.... As almost always, he was selected for a bag search... where the jobsworthy steward saw that he had an apple, a bag of crisps and an small bar of chocolate - as his normal half time snack. The steward told him that from Sturday's game, supporters will not be permitted to bring into the ground any foodstuffs -- and that fans requiring snacks must purchase them from the available outlets inside the ground ! I have checked the Ground Regulations in the Club's Official website..... There are 29 Regulations ( with some sub-sections. ) NONE of them refer to consumables which relate to common foodstuffs.... They mention alcohol not brought into the ground - and the obvious mention of drugs ( other than medically prescribed. ) I would be interested to know if anyone else had been searched - and given the same nonsense by the steward (( who are unable to detect smoke flares !!! )) I always bring an apple for half time ((( sometimes it is the highlight of the game. ))) - I think brb can guess what would happen if a steward told me I couldn't enter the ground with my granny Smith (( I actually prefer Braeburn apples. ))...... My brother ( nephew's dad ), has emailed the Club for clarification..... I told him that he could expect a reply some time after we next score 4 goals.
I'd seen something on Twitter with some fan can't remember who mentioning this about taking food in the ground, has this come as a consequence of some fans throwing food?
