Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson admits 'you can get a bullet at any time in this business' By a_stockhausen | Posted: March 14, 2017 Lee Johnson has spoken of his immense gratitude to those who continue to back him in his role as head coach. In a week when three Championship clubs have taken the ultimate sanction of sacking their managers in response to poor results, City majority shareholder Steve Lansdown and his board of directors are continuing to stand firm in the face of fierce criticism from fans, who want head coach Johnson to be removed. Embroiled in a bitter fight for Championship survival, the Robins have nine games left in which to secure their second-tier status and a large section of the Ashton Gate crowd has turned against Johnson, believing a change at the top is necessary if the threat of relegation is to be averted. But Lansdown and his cohorts are standing by the young head coach, who appeared to emerge emboldened from a back-room reshuffle that saw assistant head coach John Pemberton depart last week. Alex Neil, Steve McClaren and Warren Joyce may have been relieved of their duties at Norwich, Derby and Wigan respectively in recent days, but it seems those responsible for hiring and firing in BS3 are not for turning. Certainly, Johnson is appreciative of the support given him by Lansdown and the board during what has undoubtedly been the most challenging period of a managerial career that commenced at Oldham in 2013. Johnson admitted: "I am very, very appreciative of the support I am receiving. There are some fantastic men and some fantastic businessmen on that board, and they see a lot of managers, so I am grateful to them for backing me. "You turn up every day and try to do your very best for the football club, but I'm aware that we are on a bad run and that you can get the bullet at any time in this business. "Steve Lansdown and the board have been really supportive and the channels of communication between us are good. At the end of the day, I want to change the story and we need to win games to do that." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristo...his-business/story-30203176-detail/story.html
I really don't know what the guy has to say, if he appreciates his position he's ass licking, if he doesn't he's arrogant..i.e SOD. Bloke can't win...................no pun intended!!
Just shouting the obvious, I do despair, it's so patently false, the little despot makes me feel ashamed but I do take your hint but times are desperate, still, I must be seen t0 be fair on the tender little soul.
I don't hate Lee. I just want him as far away from BS3 as possible. Obviously if we suddenly start winning games and end the season safe and strong I'll have to admit that I was wrong but right now it looks very unlikely.
You ain't going to be wrong, clueless and should be gone. Wings say certain people disappear when we win. 3 wins in how many games, the muppet should be long gone. There are thousands of fans that are not renewing with LJ in charge. Can Lansdown accept that, that is a sad reflection where the club is heading back into the abyss.
Thousands of fans not renewing???? Have you spoken to them all personally or are they all your brothers friends?
