Would you give it as a valid goal or not?

Cracking goal for me and perfectly valid.

As long as he doesn't touch the ball twice and does it in one run up, I think it's fine.

There used to be a rule about not checking your run up stride but that changed a few years ago so okay by me.

Looked perfectly fine to me although I would sub him straight away as the opposing team would probably kick the crap out of him for the rest of the match.

I would not give it and book him for putting the game into disrepute.

I'd say no. Isn't the rule that you can't fake the shot, which is exactly what he did? So you can stutter your run but faking is a step too far. If everyone faked the keeper would have no chance because they'd never know where or when to dive.

EDIT: I don't know the actual rules, just my opinion!

On the other hand, Suarez and Zaha don't seem to have that problem when the boot's on the other foot.

Wasn't it all a continuous action though? Down to interpretation perhaps?

    Official answer to the question

As a fully qualified referee in the Llanelli under 10's five a side league I think I should put you all out of your misery ........... The rules (referee's handbook - .... rule 8 ... section 4 ....paragraph 17 a) clearly states that if Your team were taking a penalty against their team , then there is absolutely no problem with the kick ....... However - under paragraph 17 b .... the rules clearly state that if Their team team were taking a pen against our team like that then it should be disallowed cos they are cheating bastards
