QPR Under-21s soar above Seagulls at the Amex ... QPR's Under-21s boosted hopes of securing a Professional Development League Two play-off place with victory at Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night. Goals in either half from Michael Petrasso and Mo Shariff ensured victory at the Amex Stadium, where three points see Steve Gallen's side leapfrog the Seagulls into second spot. Petrasso - fresh from his first call-up to the senior setup at Middlesbrough on Saturday - broke the deadlock within two minutes. After seizing on a loose ball in the hosts' defence, the Canadian took full advantage by arrowing his shot in off the post. The R's winger came close to doubling his and the R's tally ten minutes later. Jordan Gibbons' corner was met by Petrasso, whose header at the near post was repelled by Christian Walton in the home goal. Brighton responded, restoring parity on 21 minutes. Glen Rea profited after Rangers failed to clear, smashing the loose ball past Joe Lumley. Lumley was called upon moments later, standing firm to save Craig Mackail-Smith's close-range shot. Gallen's side regrouped at half-time, regaining the lead within eight minutes of the re-start. Neat interplay between Shariff and Guilherme Dellatorre allowed the former to slide his shot beyond Walton's despairing dive. Shariff threatened a third 20 minutes from time. After Luke Young and Petrasso linked up on the right, Shariff's 25-yard effort was smothered by Walton as Rangers remained in the ascendancy. That was until the closing stages, when the visitors' defence were relieved to see substitute Jordan Maguire-Drew blaze over from 15 yards. Coll Donaldson came to the R's rescue in added time, clearing off the line in the dying moments to ensure all three points returned safely to W12. QPR: Lumley, Young, Furlong, Mitchell, Donaldson, Magri, Petrasso (Fitzpatrick 90), Gibbons, Dellatorre (Grego-Cox 79), Shariff, Andrade. Subs not used: Lennox, Carreiro, Wise. Goals: Petrasso 2, Shariff 53. Read more at http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/240314-u21s-brighton-report-1442335.aspx#1qhB2vcYjM26TEKI.99
He is too badly injured to play football I heard....long-term injury...not seen again...no idea who this imposter is.
He warmed up at half time when we played swindon at home in the cup, looked fine pinging balls to traore. Don't quote me on this but, I think he fell out with the club around the Hughes era, hence the lack of proper injury news. No kit photos, no media, no friends....... Didn't he reappear once for Harry in the early days then vanish again?
This just confirms that we do have some young talent, they should be given a fair chance to claim first team places and not just be loaned out just for some game time. Some of our ageing first teamers could do with a rest, some permanently!
