There is a supporters club on the corner of the ground, that overlooks the away end, that usually allows away supporters. Otherwise the nearest pub is the Burton Stone Inn. Last visit: Rovers’ last visit to Bootham Crescent was December 2012, where we lost 4-1.
On-loan central defender Will Packwood has been refused permission to feature for Rovers in the FA Cup by parent club Birmingham City and has returned to St Andrews for treatment on a minor knock sustained during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bury. Tom Lockyer will step in alongside Tom Parkes at the heart of defence after ending a nine-game sequence of starts by being named on the bench on Saturday. Alfe Santos is also unlikely to feature after suffering a hamstring strain on Saturday. Ellis Harrison was brought from the bench as a replacement, and Ward said: “Ellis gives me an option, but I also have Ryan Brunt and David Clarkson to consider in forward-thinking positions.”
Estonia international midfielder Sander Puri may feature for York after missing Saturday's draw with Plymouth with a hamstring problem.
The Minstermen will be raring to go tomorrow night against a Rovers side with whom City have shared eleven goals already in two encounters so far this season. Entertainment is certainly on the cards as two open attacking sides face off to see who stays in this season's FA Cup competition. York City Manager Nigel Worthington will have been frustrated by his side dropping two points at home to Plymouth on Saturday, a match City dominated for 65 minutes, and will be demanding more of a cutting edge in front of goal. Sadly for the York boss, he will be without four key players ahead of tomorrow night's match - Ryan Brobbel and Josh Carson are still away on international duty and full backs Luke O'Neill and Ben Davies are not allowed to play as part of their loan agreements. However, one boost is the return to fitness of centre back David McGurk and midfield workhorse Lewis Montrose came through Saturday's game unscathed after a period out with injury. Sander Puri is still recovering from a hamstring injury and so is unlikely to feature. So, opportunity knocks for several York City players who are currently out of the first team line-up. One such player is Jamal Fyfield, who featured in the first game at the Memorial Stadium.
We haven't won a night game away in 15 attempts! For that reason alone, regrettably, I'm going for a home win
BRISTOL Rovers boss John Ward has an added incentive to see off York City in the FA Cup after admitting that time is against him in his bid to get another crack at one of the Premier League big guns. Ward last enjoyed one of those FA Cup glamour ties eight years ago when his Cheltenham Town team entertained a Newcastle United side led by Alan Shearer in a fourth-round tie. He is hoping for more of the same this season, but his side must first navigate a safe passage past York City in a first-round replay at Bootham Crescent tonight, before getting the chance to mastermind a success over Crawley Town, who lie in wait for the winner. "Dreaming of the third round is what we poor boys in Leagues One and Two do, and I've been doing it for years," said Ward, who after two decades in management knows that more days of his long career are behind him than in front of him. "I've not had that many opportunities to take it to that stage and I'm running out of time a little bit, so I'm hoping we can do it this year. "If we beat York – and if is the biggest word in life and in football – then we also still have another tough game to consider after that." The two sides have scored 11 goals between them in two meetings this season – with Rovers claiming a 3-2 success in a league meeting back in August, before a late Steve Mildenhall mistake gifted York an equaliser in the FA Cup first-round tie, which ended 3-3 at the Memorial Stadium on November 8. "There were a few goals in the two games between us so far this season so I'd anticipate another open game," said Ward, who took his first job of a long career at Bootham Crescent in 1991. "The key has been that both teams have gone out to win the game on both occasions, and the nature of a replay means both teams will have to do that again on Tuesday night." Ward must do without on-loan defender Will Packwood, who is cup-tied and also back in Birmingham receiving treatment for a minor knock sustained during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bury. Tom Lockyer, pictured, will step in alongside Tom Parkes at the heart of defence, after his nine-game sequence of starts was ended by a place on the bench on Saturday. "I wanted to be positive and play the front four and Tom was a victim of that," said Ward. "Tom was always going to play on Tuesday because Will is out, so that also came into my thinking. We're looking after people as best we can, but Tom has been a great player for us this season and his attitude is always spot on." Winger Alefe Santos is unlikely to feature after suffering a hamstring strain on Saturday. Ellis Harrison was brought from the bench as a replacement, and Ward said: "Ellis gives me an option, but I also have Ryan Brunt and David Clarkson to consider in forward-thinking positions."

All you need to know ahead of tonight's game A home tie against League One side Crawley awaits the winners of tonight's first round FA Cup replay between Bristol Rovers and York City. With a total of 11 goals scored in the two games between these two teams this season, we could be in for another exciting encounter as Rovers travel to Bootham Crescent. The Opposition: York come into the game on the back of a 1-1 home draw against Plymouth - a game manager Nigel Worthington was disappointed not to win after seeing his side dominate for most of the game. The York boss will be without four key players ahead of tonight's match - Ryan Brobbel and Josh Carson are still away on international duty and full backs Luke O'Neill and Ben Davies are not allowed to play as part of their loan agreements. Sander Puri is still recovering from a hamstring injury and so is unlikely to feature. Darrell Clarke's Comments: "We are the nearly men at the minute. The youngsters are learning all the time, but you have to learn quick, we have to turn these draws in to victories. "We go there feeling confident, we are four matches unbeaten, all be it with three draws in there. It would be nice to win the football match for the goalie, he held his hands up for the mistake, but he has been fantastic throughout the season. "The opportunity of getting through the round and having a home draw in the second round is all you can ask for." Opposition View: York City defender Lanre Oyebanjo told the Yorkshire Post: âI am not trying to look too far ahead this time because Bristol Rovers are a good side and we have to pay them respect. âObviously we play in the league week-in, week-out but make no mistake, the FA Cup is a massive competition and crazy things can happen in it. It is a privilege to get called up to play in it.â Last Meeting: Rovers and York drew 3-3 at the Memorial Stadium to take the tie to a replay. Eliot Richards, Matt Harrold and Chris Beardsley all scored for the Gas. Team news from Bootham Crescent reveals that the home team will be without at least four key players. Both Ryan Brobbel and Josh Carson, are still away on international duty with the Northern Ireland Under-21 side. On loan full-backs Luke O'Neill and Ben Davies once again haven't been allowed permission to appear by their respective parent clubs, Burnley and Preston North End. Estonian winger Sander Puri is still coming back to fitness and remains doubtful. But long-serving centre-back David McGurk and midfielder Lewis Montrose, who successfully came through his weekend return against Plymouth Argyle, are both available. After a total of 11 goals in the two games between the teams at the Mem this season it will be interesting to see what this game throws up.
