I've heard on the grapevine that there have been over 30 CREDIBLE applications, for the Cardiff job, (I wonder if my application has been considered?) One of the latest CV's to land on Gethin Jenkin's desk is from one Gordon David Strachan scary stuff IMO
Oi Roy Join the queue. Mine was in before your's. We could double up though - Mr. Nice and Mr. Nasty - who would be who?
stand in line, i'm waiting for my interview. Maybe i'll hire the proph as the media man and Blue i'll need an assistant!!!
Interview tip: When asked "do you have a Plan B?"...just answer "whats a Plan B?"....it seemed to work last time.
i dont think i'll forget the ipswich game earlier in the season when we were 2-0 due to bullard, and dave jones solution to claw back a point was to bring on darcy blake on 80 mins - genius tactician is DJ. on a more serious note proph, i bet every job in the upper championship gets that sort of interest - actually if you think about it, the fact that DJ has left us with a depleted squad actually means that the new manager starts with a clean slate - nice new stadium / training facilities - hopefully we'll get someone good.
If you guys end up with a short list with Gordon Strachan & Roy Keane on it - I will start praying for you
Just got a phone call, I have an interview at 10.00am tomorow! I guess they were impressed by my 6 Champions league titles in a row, 15 premier league wins! 10 FA Cups, and 14 League cups! all with the Mighty Hendon FC! (shame this on FM2011 mind)
Why not Yanto? Not my first choice but nothing against him. His sides always made it difficult for us so he has something about him.
Sorry Blue, just don't rate him that highly. From the pool of available managers and those that could be tempted he would b way down my list of candidates, thats just my opinion. His win rate is only 3 in every 10 games which for a club pushing the top level football simply isn't good enough, plus I don't see any previous of building a team as needed with us. I suppose it's down to choice, but I hope the board don't go for the cheap option. Personally I would like Chris Hughton, he's worked with a small/little budget and had fantastic support from the players. Plus he's got a proven track record.
Robins has been managing a Barnsley side tipped for relegation and kept them up comfortably. I am sure Nigel Adkins win rate wasn't all that at Scunthorpe but he managed to take Southampton up impressively last season. I disagree that Hughton has a proven track record, 16 months at Newcastle with a great squad doesn't prove an awful lot. Managers like DJ, Warnock, O'Neill have proven track records. Hughton is very inexperienced relatively, although he might still work out!!
Sorry but IMO Robins and it is my opinion @ 31% win rate isnt good enough. I have always backed DJ and he did have a good track record and like Hughton HAD a good squad but Hughton produced when required AND had a Plan B. O'neil will prove too expensive in wages and transfer kitty terms and Warnock isn't available anyway!! I just feel Robins would be a backward step for the club.
