http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-14117049 It seems to me that everytime someone emerges as genuine competition to Apple they file a law suit for patent infringements. It's no wonder that people talk about apple being anti freedom. The only Apple product I own is an ipod and I hate myself for buying that as I replaced my superior Creative Zen with it just because it was the only media player I could find that was big enough for my music.
ive got an iphone and as soon as my contract runs out im getting something else. i feel sick for having one..they have such a monoply on everything how dare anyone else have a good idea!!!!!
i read that htc are now the #1 phone on the US ahead of apples iphone..dunno if its true though..would certainly piss jobs off
They are a quality phone but then Android is better anyway. I have a HTC Desire Z and it is hands down the best phone I have ever had and bear in mind my last phone was a Blackberry
ive got the old school iphone 3g..coming up to the end of my contract soon..love how the software apple release for the iphone hardly works on the older models forcing you to update your phone.
my phone is available to upgrade on friday, might get a desire z might get something else androidy. got a black berry just now but android just seems so much better than anything else about just now.
That's the Apple philosophy, force users to spend money on new hardware if they want to use new software. That's one of the reasons I will never buy a Mac, I have an ancient laptop quite happliy running the latest Linux distro with no issues.
The Desire Z is a very good phone. You get all the benefits of a good touch screen plus a proper slide out keyboard and a decent virtual keyboard. The thing I like about Android is how you can really customise it to your specifications.
Got the HTC Desire and again it is hands down best phone I have ever had, got fed up with iPhone4 as screen kept packing it in, but it isn't the best phone on the market. My mate got the new HTC sensation and it makes me sick with envy
how usable is linux for someone who is not a massive nerd? been thinking about putting a dual boot on my laptop for a while now, i still need windows because i do a lot of uni stuff on my laptop so still need to be able to use windows programmes unfortunately (autocad, sketchup, Revit etc.)
Iv a brand new Windows laptop and put Linux ubuntu onto my old battered one an suddenly the battered one had a new lease of life. Im keeping my Linux and Windows separate at the moment. Oh and its pretty noob friendly
There is a bit of a learning curve as is the case with anything new that you try but it isn't anywhere near as complicated as it used to be. For a newbie I would recommend Linux Mint or it's father, Ubuntu. Installation is intuitive and straight forward, installing software is as easy as a few clicks of the mouse and if you get the previous Ubuntu release the menus are simple to navigate. You also don't need to go anywhere near the command line if you are so inclined.
my laptop is about 4 years old and is starting to struggle with windows and all the uesless ****e that goes along with it. might need to get a new one to run windows and the massively bulky software i need and keep the old one for ****ing about on with linux. theres not much software that can run linux and still be compatible with windows software though is there? im pretty sure there is no cad package worth using.
my mate had an iphone 3gs about 3 weeks ago..anyway he tried to start it up and sync it with itunes so he could use it..but he couldnt because he didnt have the latest mac OS so even though he paid a small fortune for an apple product..he couldnt use it because apple wouldnt allow his old software to start it up..he then had to pay more money to get the latest OS so he could use it i ended up syncing it on my windows OS for him..i'd be ****ing tamping though
im not the biggest noob in the world but i cant be arsed learning a coding language or anything like what is required for a command line. i just want something that works point and click.
apple are ****s. i used to have itunes on my old pc but deleted it after it decided i couldnt have pirated music anywhere on my hard drive and went on a deleting spree.
