Was Sam making three changes purely tactical bearing in mind Wednesdays match or are there injuries to worry about, anybody got any ideas?

I expect Kirchhoff was tiring. No idea why Kone went off, seemed an odd one to me

Cattermole was treading a very fine line and would have probably gone the same was as John Terry if he'd stayed on, plus he was getting battered by Hazard, who wouldn't like?

I missed the Kirchhoff substitution but he did look like he was tiring, very influential though and now gives them both a bit extra time to recover for Everton on Wednesday. I don't think either were injury related.

Sure Kone picked up a knock early first half. He looked off pace. O'shea did well when he came on. Assume kirchoff was tactical as was cattermole who had been booked.

The only slight downside of our January signings is that Kirchoff still can't last more than an hour of any game. He's a magnificent player, but we need him on the pitch for the full game.

I hope that whatever is behind his lack of fitness gets sorted out in the close season.

    Kone was carrying a knock/sprain
Kirchoff needs rest before going again
Catts needed a rest, too - before over extering himself and snother yellow/red

    worked out well.
