I know we shouldn't be talking about the race for 4th on a day like this when we are due at Wembley in a SF but I think we may have benefitted hugely from the results yesterday.

QPR now go into the game vs Spurs knowing they have to win (as 3/4 points would not be enough to stay up and they are unlikely to get anything from their 2 away games)

Blackburn now also go into the game vs Spurs knowing that regardless of what they do against Norwich they are all but relegated if they don't beat Spurs.

Forget this "easier run in" nonsense, who you play at this stage of the season is irrelevant. As Robbie Earle said on ESPN I would much rather be a team in Newcastle's position with confidence and momentum than be Spurs a team devoid of ideas of confidence and have the so called "easier run in". Reading in Championship and Sheffield United in League 1 and Swindon in League 2 are proof of this and went on to beat the teams around them.

Wigan might also have to play Newcastle in a must-win scenario as well.

QPR and Blackburn might play us needing the points but they are away and neither travel great at the moment. Let's hope Wigan beat Blackburn on 5 May MNF so that Blackburns fate is sealed before the last day.

I still believe it's out of us and Newcastle for 4th, need a point at least against Arsenal to keep the hope alive.
