I have to comment on the pitch yesterday.

After all of the rain in the week the pitch was rolled fat and didn't cut up during the match. Even after the tropical storm, it still played pretty well.

Although it looked as though it had very little grass, I think that was just a result of the roller.

Full marks to the groundstaff, they have done a marvellous job this season.

i was given info yesterday that reason why we had danger of the game getting postponed was not due to the rain over friday night but due to JW requesting the pitch to be watered during the week apparently a ground/pitch was on the hard side and he wanted it watered ready for yesterdays game. he apparently didnt expect the rain we had friday night so the pitch was already soft and had been watered and a big rainful would go on top of that which it did and why there was a doubt about the game going ahead.

well done to the ground staff sorting it and well done to the ref. he could have seen the pitch and said no game. but he kept re-assessing the pitch, must have been around 5 times in the space of a couple of hours.

the back bits you could see on the pitch was rubber pellets if anyone was interested.

For the time of year it's in the best shape I can ever remember.

Good job we stopped our players pissing on it. <whistle>

It's definitely been in the best condition at this stage of the season since we've been playing at the Mem. Is is because of that work they did to sort out the spring under the pitch or is there some other reason?

We've had so much rain over the past year, I expected it to be dire by now.
