I have time to reflect over night but first of all I would like to thank Whitejock for taking me out for the afternoon with his son and grandson I really appreciated that .the player you were trying to remember came to me when I woke up Derek Lilley SILVESTRI not a lot to do but he caught the ball well needs to communicate better with his defence and improve his kicking skills but will make a very good goalkeeper Berardi this man is class and can play on either right or left will get in my team every time Bianchi played wide in the first half and was unlucky not to score at least one goal thought he was more effective when he played in the centre mid in the second half will be in the team Charlie Taylor I liked this boy defended well and has pace will get in the team ahead of Warnock who has lost his pace Pearce is a natural captain ran his line well but I fell needs a partner not seen Liam Cooper but maybe worth a punt Dukara ran well but cant head a ball needs to be able to jump at the moment he his 6 foot jumps to 5 foot!Puts lots pf effort in though a squad player Morison was surprised at him being includrd but he clearly has lost excessive weight and he worked tirelessly deserved an ovation at the end but I still see him as a squad player Dawson and Cook still work in progress with Cook taking the eye Poleon I was wrong about this lad he has really broadened out and I would include him in my team still very greedy and needs to pass instead of trying to get impossible goals could learn a lot from Smith Smith no9 for me made a great deal of difference when he came on and made the goal for Poleon still think he will play for Scotland soon Murphy tried hard enough but lacks that cutting edge still work in progress for him Byram I would think about moving him further up field as we have Berardi Tonge played some good touches but again lacks a cutting edge Austin worked hard and put in some good tackles use as an enforcer Hunt what can I say probably made the pass of the game to a Dundee forward who should have buried the chance no sorry Noel its Blackpool here I come for you Wooton still not domineering enough for me has still lots to learn squad player Still think we need some proper wide men to give Matt the service he would thrive on and a central defender. At the moment we would be looking at mid table finish with this squad Manager has got the squad a lot fitter but the balance is still not right but a step in the right direction regarding the 2 full backs goalkeeper and Bianchi
Thanks for the concise report Mike, as ever on the ball. I watched the match on the video link given in the game thread. I was impressed with the way the ball was passed..... on the ground for a change. Work in progress....... ?
Good morning young man hope you and your good lady are feeling well you must instruct your student on how to get onto the link .As you can gather I was taken and looked after by Whitejock it was a much better way of getting there as he parks in the Peacock
Morning, glad you had a good time Leeds60. Couple of points, Doukara is our best forward player so not just a squad player imo and I thought when Cook & Dawson came on they were poor.
Good Morning Bucks and thank you for your good wishes To be fair to Cooks and DAWSON I didn't wish to criticise them too much as they are just young boys learning their trade as I said need a lot of work in progress Doukara needs to learn how to head a ball and get the art of jumping at the right time I don't think he won an header all match in his favour he has trickery and pace
Hearing mixed reports on Doukara but pretty much unanimous that Berardi and Bianchi are a class apart from the rest. Hopefully we can get this other Milan guy over the line this week although he will probably be lacking match fitness and let's hope the Liam Cooper deal can be salvaged, he might be a gamble but as we don't have any other CB's lined up it surely must be one worth taking? If those two can come off this coming week we are just a striker short of a basic decent starting 11. I don't see Smith, Poleon, Hunt or Morison as starting strikers, I would prefer to see Hunt and Morison leave and Smith on the bench. I think we can totally give up on hoping for any wide players to join, it doesn't look like a system we are going to be playing.
I'm not his greatest fan Mighty, but he chased back, got the tackles in, scored a goal, got into positions to score more(if his team mates had passed it to him) and in general worked his bollox off.
That's How I saw Morrison a much fitter player than of old probably caused by all the junk food he ate at the wall now he has been eating [proper Yorkshire food
Agree Cook is still young at 17 and needs time, but Dawson is 19 now and he should be good enough now to play in the first team if he is ever going to make it here. On Doukara agree he does not win headers but not all strikers are hit men up front, I think that`s why he is in there so we can play it to hes feet, he has a lovely touch and brings others into play beautify
Amazing transformation in Morison. Maybe something to do with us now playing proper footy. We're a long way off the finished article, but the more the players get used to keeping the ball and keeping it on the floor, the better we will get.
Good to see we seem to be playing proper football. Will make a nice change to be able to watch games this season without cringeing
Good to hear positives coming from a friendly again. I am personally kinda still worried about signings, we have lost a first team striker and centre back (whether you think Lees is decent or not) and haven't at all replaced them even slightly. Not only this, we have 0 wide men in the team, Byram can play there but realistically we need to sign first choice players out wide and maybe even back-up in that area as well. And that for me still wouldn't fill the squad out as I would like in a perfect world.
18 yr old,6'1' attacking midfielder, from ac milan although only ever played for the reserves. Slovenian u21 international. Morning all.
Hello all ... was surprised we played five across midfield and left Doukara on his own up front ... Bianchi is genuine quality and seemed only player capable of picking a pass ... did well out wide but needs to play in centre so he can use his passing range in both directions ... I would look at a 4-4-2 with Berardi at right back and Byram in front of him, Warnock left back and Taylor in front of him ... Taylor is good at getting to the byline and has a sweet left foot, needs to start now and build his confidence ... if we do this then we will be hard to get in behind down our flanks meaning less crosses into our box ... with Bianchi and Austin in front of the back four we'll also be able to play out of our half better with the wide men to aim at ... stick Smith up front as the target man with Doukara in the hole and we'll have a nice shape, solid when defending and options across the pitch to play to when under pressure ... be interesting to see what Hock decides but the five in midfield meant we didn't threaten in the opposition box
