I just thought I would comment on the game and Norwich in general, I watched the game as if live, but I had to record it as I had gone bowling.... so so glad I recorded it! After 2 mins I must admit I did think oh no here we go again! Arsenal looked in the mood and I was thining to could have been a cricket score. However after 5 mins or so it became clearly evident that this was going to be a good game and Norwich were going to give it their all. I think Norwich work best with big striker with a small fast striker. I'm pretty sure Wilbraham will be off in the summer and I think we need another fast striker to supplement Jackson, perhaps Vaughan will be this, but he has had some real bad injuries and I am not sure how fast he is. The game was a fantastic spectacle, Holt was making the defenders life a misery, Jackson’s pace was worrying them and they had no clue what Hoolahan was going to do next. The midfield looked very well balanced Howson had a good game protecting the back 4 and everyone put in a shift. The defence looked good and late on some of the saves Ruddy made and Bennet with his blocking was particularly good, throwing his body in the way of shots. The king of Spain did a good job especially as it is not his preferred position against a real good side. Everyone put in a shift in a really enjoyable game to watch, towards the end the Arsenal defenders had had enough and were really beginning to lose it. At one point the commentators said something along the lines of…. ‘another delightful flick from Holt, at times today he has been unplayable’. Both sides attacked each other and Norwich looked a real force on the counter, I do not have a bad word to say about the performance. The ref however…. Serial bottler! Ramsey…. Got a final warning ok most refs do that but he could have been sent off. When Norwich were leading 2-1 martin was man handled as in his shirt was half off his body. If Arsenal should have had one at the end… which they probably should have Norwich should definitely had one and it may have changed the game home side 1-3 down would have forced old Whiny Wengar into a change. I think 3-3 was a fair result and as for the player who got injured if his bones are that weak that either a step or a theatrics falling over causes someone to break their foot excuses excuses! I think we also need to look about getting a couple of fullbacks as we have strengthened our centre of defence but we are limited on fullbacks. Yes Tierney has been injured for a while, but Naughton being on loan and Drury aging I think that is a place we certainly have to improve, hopefully get some with a bit of pace as well as that is what has killed us a few times this year. Also the commentators said Holt is only the sixth player to score against man utd, Liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea in one season in the premiership so to sum up Roy Hodgeson if you have any balls pick Grant Holt for goodness sake!
As did most of us I suspect I have been preaching this for weeks Not for the first time this season Certainly a contender for the worst of the season I am pretty sure we are going to see some new faces in this department pretty soon
Poor refereing - by the time Arsenal got back into the game we should have had a penalty and they should have been down to 10 men (Ramsey) or possibly 9 as Benayoun clearly kicked our player off the ball (forget who) in the first half. If any official saw it then he would have been off.
Yeah forgot about that he kicked the king of spain, who to be fair didn't make a meal out of it like if an argi had been kicked/ brushed/ got near in the penelty area
The ESPN commentators said Holt has now scored against all teams occupying the top eight (8) spots in the finest league in the world. Over half his goals, FFS If that's not a "you know where I am" message to Hodgson, I'd like to know what is
He does seem to raise his game for 'big games' he could always moon the camara after the next game.... to give a message to Hodgson (i'll just make sure I have turned it off before it)
This really puts to bed the argument that Holt won't cope against international defences. Especially considering that he has scored against arguably the eight best defences in the Premier League.
dead right if these decsions had been against the away team cards would have been pulled, this ref was shocking and how both he and the lino missed Russ being tugged to the ground and how the linos flag was not up for offside before thier pen shout I will never know
He hasn't scored against man city. He does however have the dubious record of scoring the most goals in a top flight season and NOT being capped for England.
Yes ...song or was it the arsenal one that looks like an alien was offside. Do you think it was possible the ref suspected that as so decided not to award a penelty.... no wait he was just rubbish!
