Well as usual the mags are trying their hardest to come out of this game as having superior footballers & whiter than white supporters! So one thing at a time - I do not condone the wording of the Taylor chant I agree with Martin O'Neill it was in poor taste, however, I have to say what did he expect? The LONDONER (who incidentally, has consistently refused over the years to sign his contracts until he realises that no other club wants him)had insulted all of our players & Sunderland football club, so we were going to answer by insulting him in some way. The thing I have noticed is the press don't seem to have a problem with the mags chanting about Catts. If one of our supporters has racially abused any player, I hope they get the book thrown at them & are banned from the ground, but I cannot really condemn fans for retaliating to being insulted by Taylor. Next, I am the first to admit we were poor, there wasn't enough passion this was evident as we didn't get (or deserve) any cards. However Cappuccino has been lauded as being fantastic, so if we didn't trouble them how did he have anything to do? Is this not a contradiction in the reporting of the game? Lastly for the moment at least, :laugh:when any other team plays badly & gets something from the game we are told how fantastic they are, so I for one am happy with a point on that performance & still think we have plenty to come from this team. Oh & incidentally I wouldn't want any of there current team playing for us.

We apparently wish he was dead! However, from my seat dead on the centre line in the East stand, I couldn't make them out & reportedly neither manager heard it either on the other side of the pitch, so it would seem the press made sure we all knew about it.

"Steven Taylor we wish you were dead."

Fullwell, I think you've got a point about the Cattermole chants, though that comes down to deciding where the line between banter and abuse is drawn...Racist chants apparently weren't exclusive to one fan (a lad on RTG apparently said there were songs in the toilets about Shola using his feet to open bananas?) but I'm not going to tar every fan with a minority's idiocy - we have our own idiot fans who always seem to turn up to Lancashire away games (Wigan and Blackburn in particular)

As for the pundits not praising you, I think both sides feel a bit aggrieved, all of the commentators/half time pundits seemed to be very pro-Sunderland (some due to affiliation, some due to dislike of Newcastle *cough* Le Tissier) but that's just the way it always seems to be unless you're a london team or in the top 4.

    JWAG,

If you read the Ameobi bit on RTG, it was on the walk over, and widely condemned.

Both clubs have their ****ing idiots, I assume the unemployable type that have nothing but football in their lives, however this ois 3 in a row now that Mags have spread bare faced lies & due to the web it's spread like wildfire.

I wouldn't dream of tarring the Toon fans idiots, as same as ours 98% of them are fantastic, loyal & passionate, a credit to the region.

    Let's look at it though.

Last season, this forum '**** was smeared on the walls in the toilets' you all start calling us scum.

NUFC report 'the only damage to any rest areas was one broken tap'.

What kind of person would make that up, and what kind of person would start a thread on a forum about it before it's confirmed?

Lot's of passionate lads on this board, but I tell you, never once has it gone beyond verbal with me, even as a Seaburn raised lad, once the match finishes, I generally meet some Mag mates, we have a bit banter, handshakes (assuming a draw...) and then we go on have a few beers and that's it.

Spreading bullshit only serves to paint our wonderful region of generally great, friendly, warm people in a bad light.

Have to agree - just wish most mags could agree this point (I said MOST not all) - we all seem to be open to the fact that there are idiots at our club - but my mate opposite was drinking in a pub in Walker (and I said this on their thread) and openly admitted that the people in the pub he was watching the match were giving it the monkey chants every time Rose got the ball - he volunteered the info and told me the name of the pub in which it happened - I've never been to Walker in my life but this was apparently conveniently made up as their fans wouldn't do that sort of thing - yet all 45000 of our fans are racists because of 4 or 5 people - Like I say - some (Like WP and a coupke of others) are realistic and know what happens - but other (like Clarence Acuna and privateandrewallalone) think their fans never do anything wrong

Aye, apparently somebody tried to use it.

He didn't know taps on Tyneside are just for show, not actual use.
