Does it not strike you as odd that players we 'don't want' end up at better clubs with better managers? Do you think actually he is a great signing who could well make the difference between the Championship and the Prem?

He definitely could make that difference Hampy, but only if he remains fit! That is a mighty big if! <ok>

honestly wouldnt want him and especially not in our current situation. Think we need battlers rather than injury table certainties at the moment.

As with a lot of players I think they would go elsewhere and be far more effective. I think Dyer still has a lot to offer and Mowbray obviously knows him well so I think it is a very good deal for both parties.

Could be the bit of quality that gets them promoted this season <ok> even if it is only for 30 minutes at the end of every other match...

Also, rumours circulating this morning that Boro are/were in talks with Swansea to sign Danny Graham <yikes>
Can't see it happening for a number of reasons but that would certainly be a signal of intent!

Only at Ipswich could you allow a player to come in to get himself some match fitness so that he can play against you the following Saturday!

    ****ing Priceless <ok>

Everytime I've seen him, his quality is undoubted, no question about that. I'm sure we could've struck up a reasonable pay as you play deal if he was fit would be the best player on the pitch by a country mile!! If he got injured if he was on a pay as you play we wouldn't have to worry about it!! Good signing for Boro as you say KOPR could be that extra bit of quality they need for a final push. However as I've said before Mick would never sign him and he wouldn't fit into a rigid 442!!

PTC, I have to say I have never brought into the hype surrounding Dyer but away from that how does the pay as you play deal work when it comes to our tight budget?
For example say we offered him 20k a week payp deal. Do you take 80k a month out of your budget (thats 1m a year!) and hope he stays fit for the whole season or what?
If we are seriously trying to keep to a fair play budget than personally I would prefere to sign 2 decent players at 7.5k - 10k a week and add to the squad rather than hope someone with Dyers record is going to make it through.

According to reports the deal is off, he pulled a muscle as he sat down to sign the contract!

I'm sure we could come to a deal with him. He always said he'd like to play for us again, I'd imagine we would be able to get him on a really good deal that no other club would be able to and for a player of that quality, I don't see a problem with that, particularly to the end of the season!! I think you'd be right about any other player but considering he's from Ipswich I'm sure we could have come to a decent deal!!

£10k well spent by Boro this week... not!

Kieron Dyer is a blue, is a blue, is a blue.
