Gary Johnson performed miracles getting the Glovers promoted last season, however, they've struggled so far this season, which is unsurprising considering the small budget that Johnson has had to work with. QPR, on the other hand, still have what is considered a Premier League budget in comparison to many teams in the Championship, so it will be interesting to see how the two teams fare against each other on Saturday. In all honesty, I was expecting the R's to struggle this season, so the start we've made has surpassed my expectations completely. On Tuesday night, it was disappointing to hear various negative comments from fans in and around where I sit in the Lower Loft. Yes, the performance was disappointing from an attacking display but the positives far outweighed the negatives - top of the league, five consecutive clean sheets and an ever-growing team spirit. Yeovil started the season well winning against Millwall, but have since lost five of their last six in the league, failing to score in four of those league matches. It will take all of Johnson's managerial skills to keep them up this season, especially with confidence sapping from the Glovers with every passing game; despite them scoring in their last two. Generally speaking, Yeovil are a side that play tidy football but they seem short of quality to hurt sides at this level on a consistent bases. If they can scrape a win soon it could kickstart their season. I'm hoping that day isn't tomorrow. I'd like to see QPR play with a higher tempo tomorrow. In the last two home games, the opposition have sat back and got men behind the ball, which ultimately slowed the games down. QPR being the away side might find more space going forward but whether Yeovil fancy themselves to take the game to us remains to be seen. I suspect they will. Yeovil Team News: Byron Webster is suspended while Paddy Madden and Marek Stech are injured. Possible line up: HENNESSEY EDWARDS - AYLING - SEABORNE - MCALLISTER GRANT - UPSON - RALLS - FOLEY HAYTER - WILLIAMS QPR Team News: Junior Hoilett and Andrew Johnson are still out. Nedum Onuoha and Bobby Zamora are long-term absentees. Possible line up: GREEN SIMPSON - DUNNE - HILL - ASSOU-EKOTTO WRIGHT-PHILLIPS - HENRY - CARROLL- BARTON - PHILLIPS AUSTIN Player to watch: Richard Dunne The fact that the R`s are yet to concede with Richard Dunne on the field this season, going six games (all competitions) without conceding, tells you all you need to know about his importance to the side. The man is a colossus in defence. He reads the game excellently, which makes up for his lack of pace. please log in to view this image Every time i've seen Dunne this season, he has been most impressive, winning everything in the air and almost contributing with a few goals from corners too. In his first few games, he made a couple of errors that were more down to his lack of match practice than ability, but now he has rid himself of the cobwebs from a year out injured, he looks brilliant and will be a huge player for us this season. I must admit that I was not exactly turning cartwheels when we signed Dunne, but I've been impressed with him. A great presence in the heart of the defence.
Nice one nines ... Mrs DT is off on holiday to Italy so hoping to watch a stream ... Have there been any for matches in the championship?
Look at that team from 2001 Team: Day, Askar (S/O), Palmer, Rose, Bignot (Barr), Perry, Bonnot (Doudou), Bruce, Wardley (Pacquette), Connolly, Thomson. How times have changed.
Hmmn not sure about this one. I remember in our promotion season winning season leaders QPR went to little old Scunthorpe Utd and got hammered as I remember. We definitely need to be at our best to get 3 pts as ive no doubt they will raise their game 100 per cent and on there own pitch we will be in for more than a match.I can see this being a 1-1 or 2-2 draw and I think I would take it to remain undefeated. Its the sort of game which we shouldn't lose but easily could being QPR. Come on you Rs.
The bulk of this one was taken from here http://www.qpr.vitalfootball.co.uk/m...#ixzz2fSID0e90 and is written by a QPR fan named Jack Supple. I do credit the writer & website at the bottom of the OP if it's not my own stuff. I might add my own snippets in here and there such as stats and the like. I will add my own copy when I find the time to do it in future. If anyone wants to have a go at doing a Matchday thread they're more than welcome. I think it makes it a bit more attractive and interesting to do a little presentation in the lead up to a match. I remember Brix asking posters to add pictures to threads to make them more attractive, so I attempted to have a go at it on the MD threads.
I think its quality mate. They're absolutely brilliant, especially the pictures of the opposing Managers each week! It really gets you in the mood for the weekend footie. This Board was crying out for something like this for a long time. Great work man.
Looking forward to first trip this season with Mrs SW to see the hoops. Also looking forward to watching individual, and team, and of course performance culminating in 3 points.

So should we be happy with a draw today? Everyone seemed happy with draw against Brighton in the week, so I guess the same applies today??
I'd be disappointed to be honest. With great respect to Yeovil, I see them as one of the strugglers this year. (Great MD warm up btw, nines )
