I know it's been mentioned on the transfers thread, but this deal looks like it's close to being completed. It really is the archetypal Wenger signing. Problem is that these signings have simply not come off in the last six or so years.

We need to keep signing young talent if we want to compete with the biggest Clubs.

 

I'd still hope that we would sign a proven striker in the summer, but I've got nothing against us bringing this lad in, he looks like he could be a top striker.

People shouldn't knock this transfer just because it's a young player. Bringing in Sanogo is a good decision regardless of what we do. I'd be happy with him and Jovetic. Would give us a plethora of options.

 

Really? on his wages? with his temperament? Would be amazed if he ended up at arsenal

 

Im not sure any English club, including Chelsea, would match his current wages.

If Rooney signs for Arsenal i'll buy every spud on this board a season ticket.

Sanogo has real quality and you shouldn't doubt that.
However, we have to see what he makes of it.

Great player to have as a back up.

Will be a good backup player by the looks of it.

 

w'll get to see what he's really made up in the cup games but it looks like a decent back up. I just feel we need a different striker- a penalty box fw rather than two lanky forwards.

Signing foreign squad players is not the way forward. The existing youth players need to be given a chance. How is the moral in the reserve/youth set-up affected by signing another cheap French league player?

 

We were linked with him earlier this season, so nearly everyone here knows about him actually, and most have seen highlights of him in action.

You do realise this is binding. Rumours are building that he'll go to Arsenal or Chelsea now.

 

So is this guy any good? Anyone heard or seen of him apart from some choice youtube clips? Not sure we need another of these type of signings. We already have a big enough squad and have a couple of top youngsters coming through the ranks, in particular Gnarby and Joel Campbell.
