Praise for Sagbo: http://www.squawka.com/news/2013/12...could-hurt-arsenals-title-hopes/2013120340385 "Sagbo is coming to terms with the physical demands of the Premier League, and is beginning to bully defenders."
I enjoy watching him play, when he got sent off for head butting, I was worried about his temperament, but it's all good. He's a combative centre forward with an all round decent game. I loved the build up to our 3rd goal on Sunday, he held the ball up brilliantly and delayed the pass to Thudd until he was in the right area and just passed him the ball. Terrific hold up play. Re watched the highlights last night and when we score the third Toure is on his knees thumping the floor repeatedly with both fists - hilarious. Also, for Meyler's goal, which was excellently taken, when the ball is on route to goal, it must have been literally a whisker from touching Skrtel's toe end. If that had happened he would inadvertently have had a final touch on all 3 scored goals. Has that ever happened to a defender before?
Sagbo's skill for the third goal was brilliant He did 2-3 fake shot/passes thst fooled skrtel and toure and thud managed to jog 30 yards and 'score' Sagbo is very impressive thus far He's a hulk too I suppose there is always a chance he could get a call up for the world cup cote' de ivorie team
Good read, and I like Sagbo a lot, but from 6 shots in 11 appearances for our lone front man? Says a lot about why we don't score many goals I think. Same with that heat map, only 2 touches in their area at the weekend, and one of them will have been his assist.
Own goal record - 149......................in one match! http://footballtrivia.wordpress.com/2005/10/14/most-own-goals/ Alternatively the hat trick has been done.... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/nov/12/knowledge-football-owngoals-records
Raises the question of whether we need to buy a £6million striker - when we maybe just need to get the ball to our current striker a bit more often.
Raises the question of just how long will Sagbo be ours with that £5m release clause. Some of our more well off relegation rivals may well trigger it in attempt to cripple us... Or maybe a better team might just like the look of him...
Zayatte has probably scored a hat trick of own goals on numerous occasions. I wouldn't be surprised if he's scored a proper hat trick of own goals either, you know; one left footed, one right footed and one with his 50 pence shaped head. Loved an OG did that lad.
Sagbo is playing well, the only criticism I have is that he's often found outside the box when we need him most. He needs to stop running the channels, as much and leave it for someone else so he can get on the end of a few crosses.
Yeah it was discussed to death at the time. The transfer rumbled on until we agreed to this, we we reluctantly did, but we all agreed it was no bad thing anyway cos if someone bids £5m for him it means he's done friggin amazing for us.
As useful as Sagbo is starting to look I think a £5 million bid for him in January is off the end of the scale of probability.
There's been a player classed as having 3 own goals in a game before, so there must be some where it's happened and they've not all counted. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Jon-Walters-scored-goals--players-WORSE.html There's been a few times where a team has scored 3 own goals as well.
Came in to say exactly this. Time and again he was running down the wing with the ball which is absolutely fine, but when there's no one in the box to deliver to, there's a problem! He really needs to get in the box a bit more to take shots on, and leave the wing play to Elmo and Brady.
Or, do we need a more attacking option behind him to bomb forward when he shifts out wide. As good as koren can be, I can't see him and Sagbo swapping and changing with the fluidity that top striking partnerships can.
I think we need someone to take over the role of running the channels and setting the play up to get a cross in.
Yeah I'd agree. Sagbo's finish from Aluko against Everton shows how dangerous he is from crosses, so get others getting it in to him.
