On-loan Sunderland midfielder Yann M'Vila has hinted he'd be open to extending his stay on Wearside.
The 25-year-old has been the pick of the Black Cats summer signings after arriving on a season-long loan from Ruben Kazan.

And he has revealed he is happy and settled in the area and wants to continue playing in the Premier League for 'as long as possible'.

There is a clause inserted in M'Vila's loan deal to convert it into a permanent switch next summer, if Sunderland are still in the Premier League.

However, Sunderland are currently only paying a percentage of M'Vila's lucrative deal with Kazan, while he has previously been on the radar of Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Arsenal.

While his long-term future remains up in the air, M'Vila's short term focus is firmly on helping the struggling Black Cats to stay up.

"Im happy at the club with the players, with the staff, with the people that work here and Im happy in the area," revealed MVila.

"When I was younger, when I became a professional footballer, they always said that for you, your league is the Premier League.

"Now I have the chance to play here and I want to stay here for as long as possible."

The French midfielder, who made just three Serie A appearances during an ill-feted loan spell at Inter Milan last season, has praised the backing of the Sunderland supporters.

He added: "At every match the stadium is virtually full and theres more than 40,000 people; the fans are there from start to finish.

"No matter what the game is, be it against a big team from the top of the league or a team around us like Bournemouth, its incredible to play in the stadium, and in front of supporters like ours," he told the club's website.

A very good reason to offload a lot of our deadwood permanently. Free that cash up and keep M'Vila..

Just the small matter of avoiding relegation then...

Even if we do I'd still expect he has plenty of offers, probably from teams who'll be in Europe.

Thinking you're asking the wrong man fella. He's only scored 5 goals in his entire career.

I don't think he really states anywhere in that that he wants to stay here past the end of the season - just that he's happy for now. He states that he wants to stay in the Prem, but not necessarly with us.

I reckon we have a decent chance of keeping hold of him if we do stop up though - it will mean we've put a decent run of form together an things will be looking up. Also, he's a good player, but nowhere near "top 4 material" as some on here claim imo. The best offers he'll have will be from clubs like Everton, Stoke, that sort of ilk imo. Which we should be aimin to mix it with next year if we stay up.

Fletcher and Graham's wages both off the books. Offer whatever the cumulative total was to mvila. We then get ten times the player for the same price as dead wood

A tough ask imo, he's done so well i can see so called bigger clubs wanting him. Saying that, he know's us, is settled so bust the bank Sam and get him signed. He's head and shoulders above anything we have

Lens is fine as we have Khazri to put in there (or AJ) but M'Vila injury would be a blow - last night I heard that they were doubts - M'Vila was a foot injury - hopefully just a minor impact one and he doesn;t miss much - Lens they said groin so not sure exactly
