BRISTOL City will renew their efforts to sign Premier League striker Yann Kermorgant this month from AFC Bournemouth. Eager to add much-needed firepower as the Robins battle relegation, manager Steve Cotterill has made no secret of his desire to sign a forward this month. The return of loan signing Simon Cox, below left, to Reading earlier this week has helped pave the way for City to fund a replacement and Cotterill is ready to revive his interest in Frenchman Kermorgant. Cotterill was close to completing a permanent deal for the former Charlton frontman in August, only for the transfer to fall through shortly before the deadline. Long-term injuries to first-choice Bournemouth forwards Callum Wilson and Max Gradel have precluded Kermorgant being made available on loan in recent months, but that situation looks set to change at the south coast club with Bournemouth also having Josh King and Glenn Murray at their disposal. Backed by Cherries owner Maxim Demin and Chicago-based Peak6 Investments, manager Eddie Howe is expected to bolster his strike-force during the January transfer window and the Premier League newcomers have been linked with Sunderland forward Jermaine Defoe, Fulham marksman Ross McCormack and Queens Park Rangers hit-man Charlie Austin among others. I think last season would have been the last opportunity to make a success of signing kermy ... at almost 35 is he worth the wages? wouldn't pay a fee for him
