Same as usual, OLM, PT, any news on the team tonight? Thanks in anticipation! Up the Tigers. Can sense a victory tonight!
NB team he hinted at last night with Burnsie will do for me. Only decision should be Evans or TC. Tom played very well 2nd half at Palace and Saints are a perfect team for his game to flourish. In saying that it would not surprise me to see Brady in for Stewart either. This could be a harvey wallbanger of a game(end to end in other words) as i dont expect saints to come and park the bus. IMO with Festa on saturday a fully fit and refreshed Fryatt will be back for that game which is also more suited to Evans game. Looks like Saints Jap lad....Tadanari Lee wont play due to a foot injury.
I would like to see Stewart play on the right wing. (If he does play !) He could use his pace to get past the full back and get some crosses in. On the left he cuts in too much.
Competition for places is crucial for any successful team. If those under performing can be pushed by hungrier players whether it's Stewart, Fryatt, Brady or Koren then it's good news for the team. It's a tough one to pick, glad i'm not the manager.
It will be interesting to see how good Southampton are. I saw them against Leeds and they were terrible. How they won that match I don't know ? In another live game earlier on in the season they were equally as bad. They remind me of QPR last season, never thought they were any good !
It's one thing for the fans to go into the match with that attitude, but if the players go into it with this in mind we'll get battered. It's all right for them to believe they can beat Southampton. They're up there on merit. And they'll always have their dodgy matches where they don't play well, where they're out performed and hanging on and they'll get a lucky winner. Nobody performs consistantly throughout the season. City need to turn up tonight and go for it from the off.
Tonight's game will suit us as Southampton will come to attack rather than sit back. Hobbs and Chester will probably face one of their toughest challenges of the season and it will be a feather in the cap for them if they keep a clean sheet. Expecting a good open game, they're a good side and top on merit but they're beatable ad we have to believe we can take points off them.
I was thinking about our goal scoring the other day. We didn't score many in our two premier league season, last season was mostly dour. This season, while the football has been better, we are still not scoring enough goals. So that's four seasons of pretty boring football. If it's a draw, I hope it's 3.3 or something like that.
At least we aren't being tonked every week. So that's an improvement on those 1 1/2 seasons in the premier league (up till Christmas in the first year we held our own).
Just worked out we have scored 162 league goals in the last 158 games. (The last 3 full seasons and this one) Leeds on the other hand have scored 290 in the last 175 games. Although they have let him way more than us. I hope it changes next season, whatever division we are in !
