Liverpool will be linked with at least 300 players between now and when the window opens on July 1st.How many will they sign,we'll just have to wait and see.

I must say, I do not mind at all being linked with fernando gago and Diego. That would solve Defensive midfielder with good passing ability ( not really the hard man but a solid midfield option) and a very attacking minded creative player in Diego who when given the chance to express himself and use his ability is immense ( Werder Bremen he was awesome).

We shall see though, but I do like the names we are being linked with a lot better than what it was this past summer ( Carlton cole, Poulsen, etc)

Also, a quick rafa question, If he had stayed on, I believe we would have kept mascher, I also believe we would have bought Banega who is an awesome talent....... where do you think we would have been had he stayed and the aformentioned stayed/joined? Just a question, wondering peoples thoughts ( I know we would prob still have no strikers in and width)

This will be an interesting summer, more encouraging than last summer,as I reckon there will be money to spend seeing as the interest repayments no longer exist. As Liverpool(Unlike Man United) are debt free.Liverpool will spend sensibly, but they will spend.

Interesting question, a lot of Liverpool fans beleive that if Rafa had been given the funds to buy the players he wanted instead of the alternatives then we would be a different team today. As you say a very compact team with no width but hard to break down and suited to playing in europe. I was a Rafa fan and did not want him to go, however I wouldn't swap Kenny for him.

Hey, I am well and truly happy with kenny, with Suarez and Carroll, with the way we are at least trying to play, I would not trade any of that. But it does question, with how topsy turvy this season was and with just the addition of Banega and maybe a winger or forward ( highly doubt we would have got that) also add Aquilani might not have gone out on loan, I can't help but think we would be in champs league places at least with rafa.... I thought he deserved one more year to prove it was just a one off, but hey it is what it is.

Not gonna lie, I would prob take Mascher, Gerrard, Banega, Aqua, lucas over our current CM/AM options....

Also, this is not a pro-rafa con-rafa debate, just my thoughts or others thoughts on probably what might have been.

I am really liking the gago, diego, M'Villa talk with who we might buy in the summer. I have a feeling there will be a wildcard in there somewhere, someone from out of the blue ( A la carroll, although we did try to get Gomez and llorente but those fell through in jan)

As for signings i'd like to see Sterling left wing and us buy a right winger. I expect the Sterling is too young replies but really think he is good enough already.

I'd also like a center back and cover for Lucas.

No probs, just didn't to draw up IRWT and all that nonsense that went for ages. it is a new era and one that I can only see us back to being one of the best in Europe and battling for trophies on all fronts. Really exciting summer coming up, although there is still a lot to play for right now and people would be thick to just write us off under kenny for those 6-4 spots.

I agree with Sterling though i would like to see a bit more of him. I am huge admirerer of Suso. imagine if Arsene Wenger didn't give some 16 yr old by the name of Fabregas with a God Awful Barnet a chance.... I think we have to give Suso a chance here and there and a proper AM for him to learn from ( Hence well excited about the possibility of Diego, he was immense at Santos, WB, and at times for Juve)

I personally wouldn't swap Kenny for Rafa.
Rafa could never find a balance between rigid and free-flowing.Even though both of them worked.
We were rigid against Man United at OT and we won 4-1.We were free-flowing against Aston Villa and Blackburn and Real Madrid and we scored a 13 goals in those three games.However.....
What about West Ham and Stoke at home when we were rigid.?
Or the 4-4 draw against Arsenal when we were free-flowing.
Kenny knows how to find a balance between the two.
I'm convinced that when Kenny gets us back up to our 2009 level. He'll finish the job off.I'm also convinced that we're short of just 5 players to get back to the 2009 level.
