    My prediction................ He'll be back

After it becoming apparent about his involvement in the Sahin deal, and is love for Liverpool

If Liverpool want him, Im sure he will be back

I think the thing will be IF Liverpool want him,as hes over 30 now

Hes 2 yrs left of his Real deal now, and apparently says hes no intention of signing another one.And hes also said he would love to come to back to Liverpool one day, and I think he really means it.I can also see him leaving next summer, I can see Sahin and Xabi swappin clubs next summer, with Real selling b4 hes out of contract for a low fee

Would love to see him come back on a nominal fee and do a similar job Gary McAllister did, and that is be a guiding light to the youngsters. I would love us to keep Sahin.

That's my hunch as well. I figure that if we get a champions league place then next season we'll either be allowed to buy Sahin or Alonso will come back

Would it be worth having Alonso over Sahin considering each players age?

ahhh chabbi <laugh> Be good to have Alonso back but if he went to Madrid then he could go to Chitty Chavinghamioskiograd. It's the golden circle circuit for top class players nearing retirement.. Madrid PSG chitty Chavinghamioskiograd then fk off to MLS or china

Mixed emotions. They say hero's should never return (Fowler, Dalgish) however I think he does still have something to offer if he came back for next season. He's only 30 so could easily get 2 or 3 more years out of him in the same way Pirlo has done. Just sitting, picking the ball up and distributing our wide.

Saying this, would he be stunting the development of someone like Suso who should be pushing for more first team chances but would be 1 back in the pecking order..

Could be the perfect teacher for him though.

I agree, if we want to be at the top we need the best players we can get anyway. Then if players like Suso are good enough to 'take' a starting place then so be it.

I can see us saying here is Sahin back, he is better than before now and Xabi coming the other way. You have to not look at age for a player like him. He is the Pirlo mould where he can probably play until 38 or something because he keeps his body in check and doesn't have to be physically the best, just needs his tekkers ( with that being said he is physically a lot better than Pirlo who at 34-36 is still just bossing teams).

Agree, however he doesn't fit our typical purchases since FSG took over which have been young with sell on value and also we've had 3 managers since he last played for us - who says Rodger's would even want someone like that back?

We will give experience to Sahin this year so Real feel he is ready...he will go back to Madrid next year with Xabi coming the other way.......He will have a year left and come on the cheap..
