Lifted from CI

    All city fans.

Case officer Amanda Jacks at the football supporters federation has requested that all complaints should be sent to her so she can channel them to MP's .

This protest is gonna be huge .

This Baker chap above seems to be some sort of PA or something to the 'Gold Commander' for the match. Someone known as ACC Guildford.

I'd suggest everyone keeps up the moaning and complaining by e-mailing this address, letting them know how we feel and asking that it is forwarded to the Gold Commander. We need to keep fighting and not back down.

You might also want to contact Rt Hon Damian Green, Police and Criminal Justice.

    [email protected]

And you can also click here to complain to the WYP force directly

I managed to send it without swearing once, which was quite a challenge.

I used the article on Amber Nectar as a basis for the complaint.

    Here it is Dutch:

We are deeply disappointed to hear of West Yorkshire Police’s plans for the Huddersfield Town v Hull City game on March 30th.

This fixture, which had already been brought forward to 12.30pm without good cause, is now to be televised by Sky Sports, with a 5.20pm kick-off. The response of WYP to this is, frankly, abhorrent. A reduced allocation of 1,500 punishes both City fans and Huddersfield, who are losing gate receipts through no fault of their own.

That’s bad enough, but what is truly disgraceful are the plans to force all City supporters to travel on official club coaches. This is completely unacceptable for two reasons: the practice and the principle. What of City fans who live outside of Hull? As an example, the Manchester Tigers could be left with the absurd obligation of travelling east, through Huddersfield and virtually past the stadium, to Hull, only to return again – and then to face repeating the exercise after the game. This places a ludicrous burden in terms of time and cost on people whose only wish is to watch their football team play. And what of the family who want to travel from Hull by train and have a meal and a drink before the game? Again, they miss out. Again, local businesses in Huddersfield miss out.

The principle is arguably even more insidious. What sort of message does it send out about WYP’s view of us? City fans have behaved impeccably this season, yet West Yorkshire Police appear to regard us as nothing but potential hooligans, fit only to have our numbers and movements heavily restricted lest we engage in violence. That is not at all the reality – City fans, like the overwhelming majority of all football fans, are law-abiding citizens who will put up with almost anything in order to cheer on their local side.

But we cannot put up with this. High ticket prices, matches being moved at random, cloying all-seater regulations; the list of minor indignities is seemingly endless, and they’re tolerated with immense patience. However, the vile insinuation that we’re all violent drunken scum who cannot be trusted to watch a football match in the late afternoon without being compulsorily ferried from one part of Yorkshire to another is absolutely not on.

Amber Nectar, City Independent and the Hull City Official Supporters Club have joined together to stand as one over this issue. If West Yorkshire Police will not see sense, we urge the Club to take a stand on our behalf, and refuse to accept an allocation of tickets under these conditions.

    Cheers.

Can I urge anyone reading this, if they do nothing else, to simply send a copy of the above message? It's better if people write their own or at least tweak the Amber Nectar letter, but all messages add weight to the cause. It may not affect you this time, but it could well do in the future.

Watching football is NOT a crime.

I've sent her an email asking if she wants to meet for a drink before and after the game to 'discuss the situation'.

    Eagerly awaiting her reply.

WYP are like all police forces round the country a bunch of muppets. If you are a football supporter you are a criminal in their eyes. SYP and Humberside are not much better.

Bitch-a-grams sent to the FSF, Sky, WYP, PCC, Huddersfield Town and Hull City.

Just checked the National Rail website. Irrespective of whether the WYP relent on the "must uses coaches" I can't get back to Cambridge the same day rendering my train tickets useless. I will be looking for some compensation for this. Working on how to phrase and send invoices to Sky and the WYP.

    Hello Amanda.

I am a Hull City season pass holder living in the south of France. I do not get over for as many matches I would like to. However I have purchased a flight tkt into Manchester airport from Northern Spain to watch the Huddersfield Town v Hull City football match. Due to the travel and ticket restrictions proposed by the West Yorkshire police, I will now have to travel over to Hull to catch a coach and then back to Huddersfield for the game. After the game I would then have to travel back to Hull and then over to Manchester for my flight home. I find these restrictions not only draconian but absolutely absurd. There has never been any crowd trouble to my knowledge before at the same fixture. Please strongly voice your objections at the highest level.

    Kind regards,

    Mr. * ********

    I sent this to Amanda

Hi Amanda, I've been made aware that you are the person to send my complaints and concerns to regarding this matter (which I bet you've already been swamped by). Unlike some of my more articulate fellow tigers fans will no doubt bore you to death with 5 million word essays, I'll try to keep it sweet and simple.

I'm based on the western outskirts of Leicestershire, on the boundary with Warwickshire. This was an away game me and my family had earmarked earlier in the season, due to the high probability of a large away following and the fact we have never been to Huddersfield's new stadium.

Unless we are willing to make an extreme distance, time consuming and highly expensive journey from our home in Leicestershire to Hull (going past Huddersfield), pay extra (on top of the extra fuel cost from Leics. - Hull) to board a coach to take us from Hull to Huddersfield, to then return back to Hull and drive past Huddersfield again to return home at a time probably past midnight, we have effectively been banned from attending this match by West Yorkshire Police and their extreme, unnecessary, heavy handed over the top approach to policing this game. I also know my family and I are but one group of a very large number of southern based Hull City supporters that will now be unable to attend the game because of the moronic action taken by the police.

    My key concerns are:

    1. My family and I are being classed and treated like common thugs and criminals by West Yorkshire Police because we dare to support and follow our favourite football team.

    2. What would potentially have been a sell out away game (approx. 4000 away fans) is being limited to just 1500, due to police ineptness.

    3. Leeds United, who are a genuine fierce rival of Huddersfield Town, were earlier in this very season granted the full 4000 allocation of tickets in the away stand and had no travel restrictions imposed upon them by the police. Other than being a Yorkshire based team, we (Hull City AFC) have no connection or rivalry with Huddersfield Town, yet get shamefully harsh restrictions imposed upon us for what I can see is no reason what-so-ever but to make the working day shorter and simpler for the police in control of the match.

    4. Despite each large Hull City supporters group and almost every, if not all individual supporters of Hull City not a member of these groups calling for a boycott and that the club stand up for it's own fans and their rights until these inhumane demands by the police are cancelled, I am most disappointed for Hull City AFC to ignore us and refuse to back us in boycotting the match. I feel this is a very weak and spineless approach by the football club and does not have it's priorities invested in its most valuable asset - the fans, and by taking this approach, the club is effectively unwilling to stand up for us and we are now left to defend our rights to travel independently alone.

    5. Even if it was feasible to travel via coach (ie. if there was a pick up/drop off point more local to me) I still would not attend this game due to the pure embarrassment of subjecting myself and family to being treated like a savage animal by the police in herding me in and out of the stadium and city, and the total disrespect they show to us in doing so.

    6. When interviewed on BBC Radio Humberside this morning, the police chief responsible for the situation (the one who made the decisions) could not reasonably justify or explain why he had taken this extreme approach to police the game, other than it was his choice and he was entitled to make it, showing total disregard to lots of Hull City fans that are based outside of Hull in the process (myself included)

I hope you are able to do something to help fix this very sorry situation, not just for supporters of our club, but for every football supporter across the country before these heavy handed and draconian police tactics set the precedent for every football match, and us out of town folk are effectively banned from attending games in the future. Thanks for the help you and your organization are giving us.

The FSF have never received so many messages on a single issue like this before, I believe Amanda's going to be on Look North tonight.

I've no possibility of going to the game but I've sent my email, the whole thing is a shower of **** by WYP and now, unfortunately the club too.

Maybe forums like this magnify responses but it all feels a bit revolutionary!
