Chiltern Railways have provided the following guidance for supporters looking to travel by train between High Wycombe and Wembley Stadium for the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Final against Peterborough United on Sunday 7th April (kick-off 4.30pm). Don’t travel before 11AM No trains between Aylesbury - London Marylebone (via Amersham) Queuing times will be long post-match, so please consider other transport options if you don't wish to queue. Buy your ticket in advance on the Chiltern website or app An enhanced service will operate from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross to Wembley Stadium from 11.00, and return after the match. Frequent additional and longer trains will operate from approximately 11.00 for the rest of the day. Please note that there will be no trains to Wembley Stadium before 11.00. Customers are advised to arrive at the station after this time to travel to the match. A queuing system will be in place at High Wycombe before the match. In connection with the Wembley Stadium event, and in order to free-up resource to accommodate the majority of Wycombe's travelling support, no services will operate between Marylebone - Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham) all day, with rail replacement buses in place to Amersham for onward connections to central London. After the match, a queuing system will be in place at Wembley Stadium station. Staff from Chiltern Railways will be working hard to board customers safely, and as quickly as possible. Customers may be required to queue for extended periods despite the additional services, especially if the game runs into extra time and penalties. If customers do not wish to or are unable to queue, they may wish to consider alternative forms of transport. After the match, customers are asked not to board services to London Marylebone and 'round back' to High Wycombe unless they intend on staying in central London, as ALL additional trains to High Wycombe will start from Wembley Stadium, and minimal capacity will be provided from London Marylebone. Customers should purchase tickets in advance on the Chiltern Railways website or app where possible to avoid long waits at ticket offices and machines. We would like to thank customers in advance for their patience as we work to get you home after the game, and wish them the best of luck in the final -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As if anyone would do that
That puts my plan up in smoke, I was going to do what Guy did two years ago & go up to London then come back, two years ago it was an absolute shambles
I suppose there is one thing about the kick off time with the best will in the world we will not be queueing up for a train much before 7pm & it could even be an hour later. On a Sunday evening at that time there aren't many trains running anyway
