In spirit if not in person eh BC. All I hope for is a better game than last week. I'd settle for the same result though. Not sure I could do 7am to listen though so you have more guts than me. Will let you know what it looked like around about 9pm our time tomorrow.
Sounds good my friend.. By the way i lived on Furzzhat Way (i have even forgot how to spell that street please correct me)..for many years. Pubs were the Elburton Arms..Plymstock Inn... trying to think of the pub in Elburton used to be a barbers shop near there was it Elmo's ? Went to Wembury school then Plymstock.. how about you..i know you joined the Navy at some point..
Born and brought up in Laira. Went to Laira Green Primary (even doing the green bit then) and then to Public Sec in Cobourg St where the Uni is now. Left just before 16th birthday in easter hols and joined RN as a baby sailor 2 weeks later. Did 14 years nailed to the mast before having had enough and leaving. By then had 3 kids who I'd missed a lot of growing. Joined Council and there I stayed until 2009 when once again I'd had enough and retired because I could. 2 jobs in 44 years. I can't say I know the Plymstock/Elburton area too well. I used to play cricket for my work team and we often played at Plymstock School and went to the Plymstock Inn for a beer after. Nice sitting outside in their garden in the evening mulling over why we'd lost again. Apart from that only pub I know out that way was Elburton Arms on the main road. Never had any family living out that way so never had a need to know the area that well.
Elmos must have been b4 my time.... Ones u mentioned I may have frequented on the odd occasion, or 2 , BC plus the Blue Peter(played footie for them for a bit) and Mountbatten, Morley Arms only ones that spring to mind in Plymstock and I used to like the Mussel Inn in Down Thomas too.
Forgot the Royal Oak and Victoria Inn. Vic was a great place as it would let me in covered in crap after digging king rags in Hooe Lake, bloody age is catching up with me.... fair play to Sensible for even remembering where he grew up at his age
