Wow.....Dominated one of the front runners in this league for long periods of the match. Allesandra plays a blinder in the first half and should have scored more......and Hartley proves he is more than just a defender with another goal. Fact noticed on the other two websites......without Peter Hartley playing we have accumulated 5pts from eight games........with him playing.41pts from 22 games. Also.......without O'Connor in the team.....2pts from 4 played.........but with him playing 44pts from 26 games. Hartley and O'Connor are essential to our success and keeping them fit is paramount. Must also mention that Nelson was missing during some of that time as well.....important player as well. Amazingly after such a poor run it took only two wins to get back into a play-off spot.....if we go on a good winning run we could still threaten the automatic promotion spots. Dreams are made of such things.
JS just speaking about Alessandra's PL abilities last night, suppose he will be joining Utd with Kellett soon then....
Half time quote from Radio Wycombe or whatever as reported by @Only1Argyle (I'll explain it another time Sensible) "Wycombe have not come up against two strikers like this all season. As a pairing, they are exceptional." Attendance 3,082, of which away fans 522.
@Only1Argyle ???????? wotsat all about then? I always knew there was only 1 from the start. We have a bunch of sticky games coming up and if we do even reasonably well out of them then we might just be getting a tad excited. I totally refuse to get carried away like last season when I thought we might just crack a play off place only to bomb at the end. We have a better squad now however and could easily be the late runners in the promotion chase. Why not, somebody will be.
IF the key players (essentially Tuesday's starting 11) stay fit I can see them winning the next 3- after that who knows. Still think they will be in the playoffs but am just getting a feeling that they might make 3rd. Appreciate that no one will believe me (bottom of the prediction league) but in all honesty I have yet to see a team that is genuinely 'better' than us all season. When we have played badly, or panicked , or just turned up with the wrong attitude we have lost, but in terms of ability I cant say that any one else has particularly impressed me this season. Looks like I will be able to get to 9 of the next 12 games (home and away) so at least I will be able to judge what went right/wrong.
I always promised myself a season of 46 games in one season but have never quite got round to it when the football has started. I could afford to do it but trying to justify spending all that time and brass travelling about to obscure places doesn't seem quite right in the end. Just not a proper fan I guess. IF they can win the next 3 then to be honest I can see them winning more than they lose and you are right lyndhurst, it is all about the injuries and suspensions. Keep most of them playing and we could be in with a shout. They do need to maintain the away form as well. For a change the home form has been quite acceptable this term which, for a home supporter, makes a great change. They seemed to win more away than home previously and if they can only get the two together for the rest of the season then all will be well.
An exceptional result and performance by all accounts, let's hope we take our winning momentum into tomorrow's match and make it three on the trot going into next Saturdays derby ensuring a great boost in confidence for the players, staff and supporters COYG !!!
