Which Wycombe will turn up tonight then? It's impossible to tell these days. As usual, it's a must win game and Waddock has promised changes to the team that lost so pathetically on Saturday. The problem is, I don't think anyone else coming in is better than the side that started on Saturday. That is apart from Beavon of course, but the signs are he will not be fit enough for tonight. It's difficult for me to get over to home games in midweek but I am going tonight, so I hope I am rewarded for my efforts with 3 points! Who else on here is going? Any thoughts on the game.
i am going tonight but i fear another defeat.i am with you mate it doesnt seem to matter what team waddock puts out they look like they have lost before we start.as far as i know beever will be missing but i havent checked the off wwfc site.as long as harper doesnt play we might have a chance.4-3 to orient is my prediction but i hope i am wrong
FFS how can we be hanging on for dear life after being 4-0 up at half time in a one sided first half?
jeckyl and hyde performance tonight, very good first half and sat too deep and panicked for thirty minutes in the second half.you would have thought we were 4 nil down the way we started the second half, maybe it was waddocks half time team talk .credit to matty b tonight he scored a very good solo goal and deserved mom award.
Another unexpected performance but in a good way this time. First half was sensational stuff. Second half we panicked but saw the job through so credit for that. This must be backed up on Saturday, no excuses.
Didn't realise they were playing. Good result, thrashing AC Milan 3-0. Pity about the 1st Leg. Most important game tonight was at Adams Park. Really didn't know what to expect and couldn't believe it when I tuned in to find they had just gone 4-0 up.
yeh but worrying signs second half ron we just sat back and panicked and let them dominate...............but a win is a win
rocky, enjoy strevens' contribution from left wing? In all seriousness, that was one of the wierdest matches i've ever seen. It was so flat even after we scored 4, as if everyone knew it wouldn't be as easy as the 1st half suggested and the second half inevitably delivered the same tripe that wycombe always turn out, despite at times looking like Barcelona in the first half. I can honestly say I know less about the team after this match than i did before and still have no idea where we will finish this season.
strevs he just looks so out of place out there.ditto on the game 4 nil up and we were still worried on the terraceabsolute crap second half.i hope the first half team turn up for 90 minutes on saturday otherwise the tesco carrier bags will murder us
delighted we got 4 in the first hafl, but when they scored early the defence looked shot of confidence. however the win was well desered i'd say. speciel mention must go to bloomfield today, he was fantastic on his return. feel sorry for mcclure though, but now lets go and stuff Colchester.
Really like the way Hayes and Beavon are working together and that helped the rest of the team in an amazing 1st half. After the break they scored an early goal, and everyone took a deep breath which led to a nervous second 45. Weve all just got to forget that b*llo*ks enjoy the game and steamroll col u on saturday. p.s noted the way the orient fans got on their teams back after they went 3 down, well its up to them how they show their support but IMO.. poor.
For once I think Waddock deserves some credit. The switch to 4-3-3 worked well, with Lewis and Bloomfield close enough to Eastmond to actually compete in midfield, even in the second half. Winfield seemed to be the main culprit in wanting to defend too deep. Doherty was constantly trying to get him to move up, but Winfield wasn't having any of it. Perhaps Johnson would be a better bet if he's not going to pick Laing. I suppose the second half was disappointing, but Leyton must have had a roasting at half time, and had the boost of a great goal straight afterwards, so to a certain extent we shouldn't worry about it too much. In case we needed reminding it showed that the only way we can defend confidently is to attack.
completly agree, surprised to see it work but it was fantastic. however dropping liang for winfield couldnt have gone down well with him or sunderland. on another topic, does anyone know what happened to basey, heard rumours on the gasroom he rolled his car in the training ground but you know what that websites like anyone got any idea?
The club said on its Twitter feed last night that Basey was involved in a car accident at the training ground but didn't say what happened.
