For views and thoughts before and after tomorrows game. Now that we're into March I think it's fair to say that all remaining home games are must win games. This starts tomorrow against Waddock and Kuhl's former club, so hopefully they will be even more up for getting us back to winning ways. As I said on another thread, I reckon it's time to get back to the formation that has got us to where we are now: Bull McCoy-Westwood-Johnson-Foster Ainsworth-Lewis-Bloomfield-Betsy Rendell-Beavon Aldershot haven't won for a while but are drawing a lot so are hard to beat. An early goal would be ideal as we seem to get a bit edgy if we don't score early against teams that are hard to break down. I can't say I'm confident of a win but my prediction is a hard fought 1-0 to Wycombe.
i think it will be a tough game and knowing our luck jamie young will have a blinder in goal thats why i said a draw
Get a few crosses in early doors and JY will get jittery he's a good shot stopper when he's confident. Leon need a run in the team then we will see him at his best again.
Agree with you Guy on Young. To be fair to Jamie though, his career at Wycombe never really recovered after he was dropped by Taylor prior to THAT Brentford game back in 2009. He seemed to lose all of his form after that match and never sustained a regular place in the side, despite the fact he was probably just as good as Scott Shearer.
Was at that Brentford game but can't remember who we had in goal. It was some big Czech guy we got on loan who only played a few games. Anyone know his name?
i remember seeing jamie away at exeter and he made two fantastic saves that day,he was always good to us fans and i will certainly give him a warm reception , he deserves it he is a nice bloke fair play to him.
The Czech keeper was Marek Stech from West Ham. We all agree on Johnson because he would be the right choice, unfortunately the person that matters doesn't appear to agree with us on that. Therefore I expect the team to be BULL, MCCOY, FOSTER, WESTWOOD, BENNETT, LEWIS, BETSY, AINSWORTH, BLOOMFIELD, RENDELL and PITTMAN.
I guess we will find out at about 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. I would certainly put young Kadeem Harris on the bench.
Young will get a good reception because he was a popular character, but not because he was a good goalkeeper (IMO) unfortunately. He was a decent shot stopper on his day but that was about it. It's only when Heaton came in and now Bull that we realised what a keeper should be like at this level, not Young and Shearer. No doubt Young will have a blinder tomorrow though. I would love to see Harris given a go but it's too early in his career to use him at this stage of a promotion push. Ideally I think Waddock would have got him involved in the last 20 minutes of games when we're comfortable, but there's not been many of those this season!
I do Rocky, but maybe GW doesn't think Harris is quite there yet. I'm not doubting his abilities or potential, just that he's not quite ready for professional football yet. Would love him to prove me wrong and burst onto the scene, starting from tomorrow!
i just think if we are a goal down and not much is happening bring him on his pace and trickery will frighten any tired defence
a tough game today and i thought the shots played well but in our twenty minute spell in the second half we should have put the game to bed,but its the same old story we cant kill teams off when we are on top
Should have been finished off in second half although at half time we should have been behind. First half was truly horrific. If only we could be a bit better with our finishing.......
