Wycombe-born forward Elliot Benyon has secured a season-long loan move to his hometown club.

The 23-year-old is a former Chairboys season ticket holder Adams Park and said he was fulfilling a lifelong ambition to play for the club.

He joins from League Two side Swindon Town, where new manager Paolo Di Canio has deemed him as surplus to requirements.

He bagged 46 in times 144 games for former club Torquay, but scored just once in 12 games after switching to the County Ground in January.

"He's a hard-working striker who possesses great movement," Wycombe boss Gary Waddock told the club website.

"You only have to look at the Torquay game at home last season to know what a good player he is."

Benyon said: "It's always been an ambition of mine to play for Wycombe and I can't wait to get started."
