Sounds like a stupid rule to me if I've understood correctly. This is because the agent's fee was agreed to be paid out of sell on fees I believe. So the fee was a deferred payment which may or not have got paid. Presumably that risk was reflected in the fee anyway but so what. Put ****ing stupid FA rules in 101 I say.

This all came to light 9 months ago when Blackpool were selling Matt Philips to QPR but didn't want to pay the sell on clause they owed Wycombe which Wycombe's new owners us the fans (Trust) owed to the previous owner Steve Hayes who is renowned for his dodgy dealings (see phone hacking inquiry) one of his doggy deals was to never give the club any money but just loans which he wanted back when the Trust (fans) took control so all sell on clauses were to be paid to Hayes and he would pay any agents fees involved how the robbing was alowed to get away with this god and the FA only knows the stumbling block was that Blackpool and QPR didn't want the previous arangment so a flat fee was paid as far as i know to Hayes to get rid of any sell on fee it was then up to Hayes to pay the agent which he obviously didn't do. As far as I'm aware all the sell on clauses on players from our now ex-academy have been removed so there are no third party involvement exists. The only wrong doing WWFC Trust is guilty of is naivety so be wary of so called rich owners Technically sell on clauses are third party ownership I hope this clarifies it somewhat
Please feel free to corect any points that I may have misunderstood
