Just home from the match, I couldn't believe the line up when I saw it, I was sure we only had 10 men on the pitch when I saw no striker? But no, we played 1 4 6. I've never ever seen a team play with no strikers before. Anyway, the game itself was alright, nowt special, you could tell who the premier league team was but we just couldnt get a goal. Vaughn and Larsson played well and I'm sure Larsson will get quite a few assists with his fantastic crossing. Wickam played well when he came on so here's hoping he gets more game time soon. Brucie- sort it out son.
So, next game: The mig (heard westwood wasnt up to much tonight) o'shea brown anton bardo larsson catts vaughan sess gyan Wickham Sorted. It picks itself, surely?
No and No. Beer was fosters or kronenberg and White wine ? I was half expecting to see brown ale. Plenty of pictures of past Brighton players but nothing special for away fans. Nice stadium though, everything's brand new and even smells new still.
Agent Bruce is losing his touch. This no striker malarkey is taking the piss like, he's going to lose his cover.
Shame, i thought that sounded class when i read it. In fact i didn't read it, i saw it on BBC on Footy Focus or summat, wonder why they didn't go for it?
Was at the game tonight and when they read out the team I wanted to ask the guy next to me if I'd heard it right and we were starting without a striker but then I thought this is a Baldrick-like cunning plan that I'm not privy to so kept my mouth shut. Even for someone like me who last played a competitive game of football in the 1960s 4-6-0 was a new one on me. No pictures, no local beer but it's a really canny little stadium and Brighton ain't a bad team. Hope they do well this season under Gus.
Everton did more than once last season. 4-6-0 formation - that well known tactic to ensure you never win another game. Although I think tonight we actually played the 2-8-0 variation on this formation. If it wasn't so frustrating it would actually be funny.
