Can someone please explain that team selection today? Albrighton & Ulloa should both have started and there was a case for the new lad starting as well. Very poor performance in a game we needed to win.
Wood & GTF to start next week?

agreed - very poor performance, disjointed right from the start, and no midfield bite today - minor plus point the gap still says the same
but .... our next 6 games includes 4 write-offs (or we could say bonus point games)
man u away, arsenal away, chelsea home, man city away - with only palace home and everton away - the so called easier games!!

if we can stay in touch after these 6 games then we have the 10 game run-in with 5 or 6 winnables!!

    still enjoying the rollercoaster though

Don't ask me, I put money on us to win today! and when I seen the team selection I asked if i could have my money back unfortunately they would not agree. But what a team to field against a big side like Stoke just cannot see NP's thinking on this one. He his very unfair to the punters,

It didn't make sense to me either why leave the only player who can score on the bench. When you desperately need a win.

This is what makes Pearson so frustrating! Just when the team has started to come good and you think we have half a chance to catch up with the group above he seems to tie the team's hands behind their backs and picks a side that is just plain wrong!

Only Ulloa has managed to score goals for us this season so I don't get why he didn't start. We had nearly £20M worth of strikers on the bench and strikers with a tally of 3 goals between them on the pitch

As good as Vardy and Nugent was together last season they aren't good enough as a partnership for the Premier League

... had to calm down before posting ... Stoke's best central defenders out ... a game we need to win ... so we put our £17 million strike force (yes gentlemen £17 fookin million worth) on the bench in favour of two, let's be honest, Championship strikers ... was actually lost for words ... seriously pissed off not to mention fookin baffled ...

Jeff Schlupp our best player (carrying a knock) ... if only those crosses in the first half had gone to Leo or the new lad ...

I can understand you not playing the new guy because he probably wasn't allowed to train with you due to the work permit situation so he's not have any chemistry with the midfield. I don't understand why you'd also leave Ulloa out though. Even if he's tired, play him this week and rest him next week when Kramaric can come in for him.

Ulloa had to start, simple as that.

    I believe.

First time in a long while that i've actually got mad after a team selection. Usually Nige knows what he's doing but yesterday was just bewildering.

My phone buzzes when the team sheets come in and I got Stoke's first so I was particularly excited to see the mega-money strikeforce be all over them.

How Vardy got in the team is beyond me. 2 goals between them from open play all season versus the 8 from Ulloa and the hundreds from Kramaric.

I hate the idea that a footballer has to be "match fit" before playing. As if being paid millions a year isn't enough incentive to keep match fit.

We'd be 17th right now if we'd have actually gone out and attacked Stoke because i'm certain we'd have won the game that way. Instead we sat back, invited pressure and then just lumped the ball up to the technically poor Vardy.

At least Kramaric looked a handful when he came on, even if we didn't get the ball to him enough.

Very, very pissed off after that shambles though. Nige and the coaching staff need to have a long hard think about it because we've got the worst home record in the league. We've sat back and tried to hit teams on the break when we're not good enough to do it. We've got Danny Drinkwater and Andy King playing in midfield, both are more than capable of picking a pass and keeping posession. Neither are work horses who defend for their lives and then charge up the field when we break. We need to pick and choose when to play football and when to sit. Stoke, while they're not like they used to be under Pulis, are not a 'footballing side' whereas we are. Glen Whelan is better at putting 6 studs on his opposition's shin, he's not good at playing possession football. We're so ****ing naive it hurts and, while it pains me to say it, it's down to Nigel Pearson. As much as I love the bloke he's rarely set us up right this season. We've been very unlucky in some games, yes. But we've got precisely what we've deserved on the whole. Only Hull away have we nicked a game.

Pearson is a very good coach and a very good manager. He's not a great tactician and neither are Shakey or Walshy. We're not learning from our mistakes and it's costing us. Being above Burnley, Hull and QPR would have been absolutely massive and we've ****ed the chance.

Come on lads, we're better than we're showing. Prove that we can play a positive game of football and take the game to the opposition for once.

That team selection for me is why Nigel's ability to be a top class manager/coach will always be called into question. He's done great to get the backroom stuff sorted out, and it's fine being a decent bloke and a good man manager, but his top priority is to win football matches. If he was ever going to learn from his mistakes then it would have happened by now. Unfortunately, at some point, he's going to have to be replaced by someone who can take us to the next level.
