a bit of bite for the squad and experienced championship pro who will take nothing but 100%. Perhaps QPRs squad can 'carry' him a little to allow for his winning mentality to make those around him play better? Odd one for sure
The problem is they aren't scoring enough. Wellens will do them no favours there. They already have the strongest defence in the league why bother with another defensive midfielder?
Wellens isn't really a defensive midfielder (he can't tackle for one thing) ... he's a very neat and tidy technical footballer and will fit in well with Benayoun and Krancjar - you'd have to wonder about the collective legs of a midfield with both Banayoun and Wellens in it - but it will be hard to get the ball off them with the technical ability they have! ... Matt Phillips and / or Junior Hoilett will be required for 'legs' but I'm not so sure that it's such a crazy signing - Wellens has been playing regularly and is therefore now, presumably, fully fit ... QPR will have tremendous experience in their ranks ... the question is whether they may have too much when it comes up against very mobile sides... interesting.
You'd think at his age that Wellens would rather be playing regularly at Doncaster than sitting on QPR's bench, then again, footballers are a funny bunch...
