It must be a slow news day, but made me chuckle (albeit momentarily, before I reverted to my usual sombre Victorian facade). What would you put on a 2012 QPR calandar?

    -------

Chelsea and QPR were ahead of the game when they planned their official calendars for 2013 – they left former managers Roberto Di Matteo and Mark Hughes off them.

The two sackings last week of the managers showed that no-one is safe at either end of the table and the planners at both clubs were clearly ahead of the game.

Neil Warnock was pride of place in the September slot of this year's QPR calendar – but eight days into 2012 he was sacked after eight Premier League games without a win.

They were taking no chances this year. Hughes wasn't given a slot – even though chairman Tony Fernandes repeatedly backed him on Twitter – and the 2013 calendar features only players.

Big Phil Scolari made the front page of Chelsea's 2009 calendar but he was gone before the end of February that year and they learned their lesson – a manager has not featured on a calendar since.

The planners could well be forgiven for assuming Di Matteo who only six months ago won the Champions League and FA Cup would be allowed a bit of time at the club but it was clearly a sensible decision, especially given the revolving door at Stamford Bridge that has had nine managers in nine years go through it.

There might be a few more Chelsea faces that have made the front page of next year's calendar and inside that will not be there next year.

Frank Lampard is the player picked for October but with his contract up in the summer and Rafael Benitez saying the midfielder is not in his plans Chelsea fans could well be staring at that month with nostalgia in 11 months time.

And the same could be said of Ashely Cole. If PSG's Twitter feed is anything to go by the defender may well have left for the French club by the time his month August comes around.

Only four of the 20 Premier League teams have managers anywhere near their calendars for 2013.

But two of them are in the bottom three. Aston Villa's Paul Lambert is on the front of their calendar and Reading's Brian McDermott has a whole page for February.

There was not even a risk taken with Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger, even with 42 years management at Manchester United and Arsenal between them.

I'm a shoo-in for the "****tiest, most pointless thread in the history of Not606 so I can't be arsed to respond on it" award. Ninety-seven viewings and not a sausage.
