First of all, I'm sorry they narrowly missed out in the final of the FA Trophy. After losing their league status many years ago, times are looking a lot better for them. Obviously, the star studded ownership has raised their profile but in addition, they are now potentially two games away from rejoining the EFL. It would be the icing on the cake for the people of Wrexham who were just granted city status entirely because of the club. I wish them well. Interestingly, to me anyway, the last time all four Welsh clubs were in the top four divisions, Cardiff was the only city. Now all four are.
I'd love for all 4 Welsh clubs to be in the same division to be honest, together with as many of our local rivals as possible, just for the sheer entertainment value of it.
Really not bothered. They went down as not good enough. Win the play off they return to Div. 2. Well done, as I would say to any club doing so.
'Arsh BfB.......especially from someone just relegated!! I was always glad that Newport won that playoffs some time ago coz I felt Wrexham were most likely to get another chance.....but it was not so. Good to see them with another chance and effectively a new life through their new owners. When did Newport become a city? Did I miss that?
I can live my life without gogs. A different species up there. Speak Welsh amongst themselves to ignore non-Welsh speakers but when they have to speak English its with a scouse accent. I know you shouldn't blame the whole club but I've never forgiven their 2 fans and by implication the rest of them for setting off the marine flare that killed a fan at the Wales v Roumania World Cup qualifier in 1993. Bloody thing went about 10 feet directly over my head. There but for the grace of God and all that. What possesses people to think its okay to bring any sort of flare into an enclosed environment like a football ground? Not right in the head in my view. Sorry, gone off on another ramble. A slow day so far.
With you on this. I don’t get the love in for Wrexham. They were more than a rival to us than little 4th division swansea were in the 70’s. Plus they’ve got USA investment, lucrative sponsorship and a Netflix deal which is more than the other league teams. If they make it up then good for them but so what?
Used to drive the outskirts of Wrexham regularly on my way to fish the Dee. Its a dump. Drove within sight of the racecourse ground (or whatever its now called) twice today, heading to and from the Rhondda, taking mam home.
