I wish we could wrap up all our star players in cotton wool and not let them out until 3rd September, thus avoiding the frenzy of the transfer sagas which is about to unfold. My only concern now is can we hold on to all of the squad until after the transfer deadline. I've heard the obvious links being made with Williams and Michu but I'm just as concerned about the likes of Chico and Ben as well. It would be such a pity if this squad build very effectively by ML should lose any of its important cogs. A fortnights hibernation for me I think!!

Can't even get hold of Huw when WE want to! With all the hype surrounding us I don't think anyone will want to leave

I really think you have nothing to worry about losing players before the season begins, why would they want to move? You're in a european competition and have an exciting season ahead. Good luck for the season and as long as we get all 6 points from you I will be happy.

Hmmm... that does make me wonder, if they just disconnected the fax machines and telephones then would be 'plausible deniability'. <laugh>

He meant he'd be happy if he had six pints in Swansea.

They get BT to disconnect them a couple of days before the window closes.

I do get the feeling that Arsenal will panic about Williams and slap a 12m offer, but as mentioned before Huw will probably be sleeping with his phone turned off <laugh> Wouldn't surprise me one bit!

Laudrup has said it will be pointless coming in last minute to get ANY of our players as he's stated that it does take time for us to get the right player in etc. Of all the ones it is Ash that would worry more about, if Arsenal panic and submit a silly bid.

this is the worst time of the season for every club not just ours. there will be clubs trying to do business and we wont be any different....I always said we will know who is staying and who is joining for sure when the window is closed and not before.....

I believe the cut off point set by the manager is the 27th August , after that then it wouldn't be feasible to bring in a quality replacement .

To me all transfers should be done before the season starts, so all teams can get on with it and have no disruption to the clubs and players.

I agree , this policy can massively impact on the clubs/managers coaches and those who like to have the players names printed on their shirts <whistle> and don't get me started on the January window ,that shouldn't even exist <grr>
