Definitely and they were marginalised as are all voices of reason.

An example, the vote to recognise Palestine. A large section of the UK parlaiment, namely officers of Friends of Israel in Labour Lib Dem and Tories push the interests of Israel in matters in that region and domestialy that relate to that part of the middle east. What the people who elected these people think is irrelevant, so, that really shows what a joke it all is.

Politicians never represent the people, they represent the view of whichever political party they belong to, and the views of whichever big business concern they get into bed with.

A prime example is capital punishment. If there was a referendum on it the majority of the public would be in favour. There have been several "free" votes on it in Parliament and the MP's have always voted not to bring it back, rightly in my opinion, but this does not reflect the views of the populace.

Sometimes politicians have to be the conscience of the country and therefore can never please everyone. However, this does not mean we have to accept them being corrupt, or lead the country into wars we should never be part of by producing false information to create the impression the country is under threat when it is not, YES I MEAN YOU , BLAIR!

i would like to see politicians forced to use PUBLIC services ie nhs etc, see how quickly the ****s are prepared to do cutbacks then.

yes i appreciate they have the right to private and costs have to be cut somewhere, but considering they are supposed to be representing the general voter, they should use the same services we do with maybe the exception of the cabinet for example, the rest should suffer like we do, ****s! none of them live in the real world that's the main issue for me, similar to footballers, they live in a little bubble as well.

that's the problem with it half the time, torries(well all of them really) are only interested in keeping the rich richer and by doing cutbacks to the nhs etc, which lets be honest effects very little of them any way as i should imagine most if not all politicians go private. which in return keeps their connections happy ie privatizing everything.

watched question time one time and was a mp on there, member of the audience took the piss basically about him using the nhs etc, and he said he had used the nhs that week as well as private, and i was sat at home thinking yeah i bet you went private and your kids had to suffer nhs, so it wouldn't effect your pocket.

politicians should be made wear sackclothes and ashes under thier armani suits... whipped every week FOR REAL... and not allowed a bank account... made eat porridge each day and basically worked like dogs

OR they should just do a proper job of public service so they'd be respected
